A loud bark came from the cage, Shire's eyes were wide, and the dog faced them, "What are you doing! get away from me!"It said. "Oh it talks." Retorted Cody. "Yes I talk, you feline!" It barked. Cody growled in disgust. Dog, he thought. "What are you called?-so we don't have to call you "dog."Shire spat. "Randy, I used to have and older housefolk, but some workfolks took me away when I was in the road." Randy said. "Well, I guess our workfolks got you there?" said Shire. " Yes, that's true." "Well, we're gonna go," Cody said. "We have our prey still somwehere around here." So Cody and Shire padded across the clearing and went to pick up their prey by the side of the barn. " I guess we should join Cow and Fern." said Shire. "I agree, and we should tell them atleast to keep close on him, becuase the workfolks are probaly gonna let him out."said Cody.
As a cold breeze flew through the air, Shire sat quiet eating her prey. I should join them, she thought. So she leaped down and padded into the barn. At the edge of the hayloft, Cody's black and white fur was easy to see. Shire went up the wall and also saw Cow curled up by Fern. I hope Fern will make it through winter. She thought. Shire curled up in the nearest corner where the hay was bundled up.
