"We're back!" said Shire. Cody and Shire padded around the barn to see Fern russeling with a moss patch, while Cow sat and watched. "Fern should start to learn how to hunt." said Shire. "Will you mentor her?" asked Cow. "I would." Shire said. " You can start today, I wouldn't mind."

Fern and Shire padded into the trees,"We can start in the clearing back in the woods near the rocks." said Shire. "Okay."said Fern. As they padded farther into the trees, a bramble cracked, Shire turned around and saw Randy jump over the brambles. "Randy! did they let you out?"said Shire, "Who?"he asked. "The work-" "Oh, yes they let me out." He said cutting her off. "Oh." she said. "Well, me and Fern are going to prctice pouncing."she said, as she started padding again. "Okay," Randy said.

"Get your flank up a little more, good. Now, when your ready, pounce." Shire said. As Shire backed away, Fern pounced, and landed right on the stick that Shire had put out. "Great!"Shire said. Now, let's do that one more time."
