A Midnight Stroll chp. 30

"Kyle, what's going on?" asked Chase who looked confused as hell

"It's ok Chase, I just have something to say" he said and turned to face everyone at the tables around us. "Can I have everyone's attention please!" he shouted.

The room when quiet and everyone turned to look at him. He grabbed Chase's hand and stood her up. She still looked confused as hell.

He got down on one knee and Chase's mouth popped open. She turned to look at me and I gave her a huge smile. She turned back to Kyle

"Chase Gaden, from the moment I first saw you, I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I promise I will make you happy and spend every second I can with you. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

He pulled put a ring that was in a tiny blue box and held it out.

Chase just stood there shocked while Kyle started to get a nervous look on his face. I looked over at Chase's and Kyle's parents. Their moms were starting to get teary eyed.

"Chase..." Kyle whispered and stood up. The room was dead silent.

"YES, YES, YES!" she screamed and jumped into his arms and kissed him. He grabbed her, kissed her back and slipped the ring on her finger, the whole room erupted with ahh's and clapping. Our whole table stood up and went to go hug them. Kyle looked overjoyed and Chase was crying happy tears along with her and Kyle's mom. I stood there with Drew waiting for everyone to sit back down before we went to congratulate them. Everyone sat down and Drew and I went up to hug them.

"I'm so happy for you" I said to Chase and gave her a hug. "And by the way, now you know" I whispered in my ear.

She wiped her eyes. "Amy, I'm so sorry I got mad, thank you, I couldn't be happier right now"

"You're welcome and congratulations" I said and let go

"Thank you" she whispered before she was crushed in a hug by Drew

I went to go hug Kyle who was grinning like an idiot. "I told you everything would be fine"

"I know, thanks" he said and smiled even bigger if that was possible

We all sat down again and chase put her head on Kyle's shoulder. We all talked about how cute they were together and all about wedding plans. A little while later the waitress came back and slipped a piece of paper to Daniel. He smirked at me and out it in his pocket. We all finished eating and headed out. A few people stopped to congratulate Kyle and Chase. Kyle picked Chase up bridal style and carried her out to his car that he drove over. They went back to his house. The rest of us stayed in the parking lot talking for a while before we went home. I went home with Drew and Daniel went home with my parents for the weekend before he flew back to USC. It was around 8:30 so I was tired. I climbed into the back of Drew' s parents car and snuggled up close to Drew. It had been a long day.
