My visit with Scott was short, because Scott didn't hold a grudge against me

My visit with Scott was short, because Scott didn't hold a grudge against me. He was bitter yes, at his brother and Bruce more than me. He'd given me a lecture for the future instead.

"I wish you never get involved again." His frown was upsetting. Him being in the hospital bed was just as upsetting.

"No promises Scott." I joke.

"Just don't let anyone get hurt."

"I-I promise." That was a promise I intended to keep. So leaving New York was probably in the best interest of that promise.

Martha and Albert loaded my luggage into mom's little car. She wasn't allowing me to bring my two cars along just yet. Who knows, they might have to be sold off to pay dad's debt to the city.

But I'd made sure I owned them, and not dad. So I assigned Viv to keep them in a secure garage for me until I could pick them up. Mom didn't have to know that. Nor did she need to know about the money I'd piled up living here.

"That's the last bag."

"Thanks Martha. I'm going to miss you by the way. Thanks for looking out for me all the time, and for telling the truth." I hug her and whisper, "Don't tell anybody else about what happened in the past. Belinda and Bruce can easily find out who spilled."

They could, but they had a grudge against me now, not whoever spilled their secret. But I had to leave the threat hanging to ensure she never told anyone else. Because it wasn't just her safety on the line anymore.

As I step back, I see her frozen expression of fear. I pat her back to shake her out of it. "Call me if you ever need anything." She nods and I move to say my goodbyes to Albert.

Before I can get another word in, a car harshly parks behind mom's Honda. An Aston Martin to be accurate. The girl at the wheel quickly opens her door and slams it shut. Vivian follows suit from the passenger side, and Katrina from the back.

"Are you kidding me? You have knack for leaving without telling you know?" I almost fear my face thinking Vivian would slap me. Maybe Rose would. But she is probably joyous of my departure.

"Sorry?" I reply meekly in a question rather than a statement.

"Sorry? I..." she stomps forward but instead of bitch slapping me, she launches her bear hug on me. I stumble a bit before returning the hug.

"I'm going to miss you Camille. So much. We might have only known each other a year, but god you grew on me."

"I think anyone can grow on you." Michael's voice interrupts with a chortle. I notice Rose' holding her phone up, as Michael smirked at Viv.

I throw a glance at the main doors, knowing my mother was still last minute packing her own bag. "I'm sorry Viv. I didn't want say good bye. I didn't want to make everyone sad."
