××Stormy××
"We don't have much time to waste," Niton said as he rushed Fallow and I back to the cabin. I paid no mind to the brush scraping against my pale skin, leaving light pink marks in their wake.
The door hit the back of the wall with a creaky, loud bang as Niton and I ran inside. We parted ways, going into our separate rooms. My own room door was already open from where I had unsuccessfully snuck out earlier that night. I didn't have much to pack.
I threw my clothes into my backpack and took the few things I had picked up around the woods. My bow and arrows were already on my person along with my knife. I was ready to go.
I didn't bother closing my door as I walked out. Niton was already standing out there. He had nothing with him but I didn't question it. It made sense that he would have nothing actually. He probably has been going between dimensions this entire time.
"Are you ready?" Niton asked as he led me out of the house by the hand. He sat his other hand on Fallows' side and made eye contact with me. His eyes were red around the edges from crying.
"Yes." Was my simple reply.
Niton tightened his grip on my hand and made sure Fallow was secure. His black orbs melted away into a crimson. Black smoke seeped from the ground and swirled around us, creating a large vortex. I followed it up and watched it swallow us completely, blocking out the light.
Then it was like my world shifted, or more so the ground felt like it was shifting under my feet. I threw my other hand out to clutch onto Nitons arm and I faintly heard Fallow give out a distressed cry-like grunt.
When I gained the courage to pry my eyes open, the smoke was settling back into the ground. I found myself on the edge of the forest. I turned my head to question Niton while still staring at the edge of the forest, trying to figure out which side we were on to make it easier to locate my house.
"Why didn't you teleport us further in?" I was pretty sure Niton had a decent idea of where my home was. He could have gotten much closer to my home or even the king's large tree castle. It was easy to see since it towered over the entire forest.
"The forest is protected by many spells and many different types of magic. Specifically against demons. The blood gets us in and allows us to use magic," Niton explained as we started our run through the forest.
I decided my house was quicker then going right to King Oberon. Then from there, someone with wings could fly and warn him. Fallow could fly but not as fast as the fairies.
Fallow ran way ahead of us and I called upon my vampiric blood to help me move a little faster. It wasn't a very nice feeling but I didn't care. Niton didn't have a single issue keeping up with my pace and I'm sure he would be moving faster if he knew where he was going.
The clearing came into view and I pumped my legs to go faster. I spotted Finches orange hair first, it sticking out among the green and ironically matching the slightly orange tone of his own home tree. Lavender was standing next to him patting Fallow on the head. He was soaking up the female fairy's attention.
Finch looked up as soon as we entered the fenced clearing. His eyes going wide even though I'm sure he knew I was coming.
"Stormy! You're back!" Finch opened his arms for a hug, a large smile taking over his face. I dodged the hug but gripped his much larger hands. He must have noted the worry in my expression because his went serious.
"Where is mom and dad?" I needed to tell them first. They would know exactly what to do. I looked up when Finch didn't answer, his eyes were trained on Niton standing behind me.
Niton looked utterly confused. I don't think I'd ever actually described Finch's appearance. I'm sure he imagined all my siblings looking like me. I'm not sure if I ever told him my 'mom' was a man or that we were all adopted. I'd worry about it later.
I reached up and waved a hand in Finch's face to catch his attention.
"Ignore him. Answer me," I ordered.
"They should be in the house," Finch said, a slight questioning tone entering his voice as he pointed a thumb backwards towards the giant redwood tree.
I abandoned Finch and took off towards the house. Three sets of footsteps followed behind me.
I was on the short rock walkway leading to the door when it opened. Dad stood in the doorway, his face blank as I came to a stop a foot away.
"Stormy?" His voice cracked and emotion slowly flooded his face. A large gasp came from inside the house.
My dad was shoved to the side like he was as light as a feather by my much shorter mom. His long red hair trailed behind him as he sprinted towards me.
My arms opened moments before he crashed into them. His arms wrapped tightly around me as mine did the same. Tears came to my eyes as I realized how much I missed my family, how much I missed being with them.
I had been away longer than ever before.
"We looked everywhere for you," Mom said, pressing a quick kiss to my temple.
"I missed you," I whispered through the tears. My words caused Wild to tighten his arms around me.
Longer arms, covered in black leather, circled around us both. I glanced up and found my dad smiling down at me. I couldn't help but let loose more tears. It was rare for my father to show strong emotions so the tears coming freely from his eyes meant a lot to me.
"You hid well, Little Storm," Dad mumbled into the hug.
"Too well," Mom said, pulling out of the hug, pushing Dad's arms as he did.
"You are never allowed to leave the house again!" Mom ordered, crossing his arms across his chest.
There was silence for a few moments as Mom and I stared each other down. Then a smile slowly began slipping onto his face and my own grin grew large.
"I agree with him," Dad said, slinging an arm around my shoulder. I reached a hand up and whipped the happy tears from my eyes.
"Okay, enough with the waterworks. Something bad is about to happen."
My words dropped the soft atmosphere, a grim look overcoming my features and concerned ones staring back at me.

Pic isn't something shown in this chapter but thought it was cool so it exists in the forest somewhere
