"Can you imagine?" Ginny asked, smiling widely to her friends as they sat on the train. While putting their luggage above their heads, Hermione glanced outside the window and inevitably smiled when she saw student running to make it in time. "We're going back to Hogwarts!" her friend squealed even higher than what she could have imagined possible. Harry smiled at his girlfriend and took her in his arms, whispering in her ear.
Hermione had to look away, her heart tightening when she remembered that she and Ron had broken up two days ago. She still hadn't completely accepted the fact that he had ended their relationship just after she had returned from Australia. She hadn't even told him what had happened there.
Apparently, from what he had told her, she was not his type and he preferred more outgoing girls who didn't just focus on their personal accomplishments. Remembering how he had made her upset with those words, she mentally scoffed: she didn't need him or his approval.
Luna suddenly opened the door of their compartment and smiled at her friends. "Hello, everyone! Can I sit with you?" The witch had her long blond hair put up in a high ponytail and wore, as usual, her radish earrings. It didn't seem she had changed from the last time they had seen her.
Hermione pushed her bag filled with books for the Hogwarts Express in order to make some room. "Of course, Luna, you don't even have to ask!" She laughed.
"Thanks! Oh, Hermione! I saw Ron with Lavender, just in case you wanted to know where he was," Luna told the bushy-haired witch while sitting on the seat next to her.
"Luna." Ginny coughed. "Ron and Hermione aren't together anymore since Thursday."
Luna apologized immediately to Hermione, the innocence in her eyes showing she was sorry for her. "It's fine, Luna, you didn't know," Hermione brushed the incident off, even though something entirely different was going on in her mind.
It had been two days and he was already with another girl? Lavender, out of everyone? She couldn't believe she had even agreed to go out with him.
"On a happier note," Harry clapped his hands together. "We are off to Hogwarts for our final year! Aren't you guys excited?" The girls agreed with him enthusiastically.
Sure, Hermione was happy. But she was also nostalgic: Hogwarts had always felt like a second home, and now, with everything that had happened, she had nowhere else to go than there. It was her safe place.
As the train started moving forward, Hermione paid minor attention to her friends and looked outside the window. Her stomach growled, reminding her she hadn't eaten this morning. She ignored it, knowing she would eat a lot tonight, with the gigantic feast.

Draco sat with Blaise in their compartment as they played chess. As usual, he was beating his best friend. "So," Blaise casually began the conversation, "Any girl you have an eye on?"
Draco scoffed, moving his queen. "I don't think so, Blaise."
"Why not? You're handsome, single and ready to mingle!" Blaise joked.
"I was a Death-Eater last year, I'm from the Slytherin house and my father is in Azkaban. I don't think any girl is looking for this type of boyfriend," Draco stated, rolling his eyes.
Blaise winked at his friend. "It doesn't have to be a relationship... just a one night stand."
"I don't know..." Draco muttered. "I don't know what I want, so until I do, I'm just going to be invisible."
"Fine, do what you want," his friend sighed.
Draco put one of Blaise's pawn off the board and replaced it with his. "If only mother hadn't sent me back there..."
