The two girls left the Great Hall and Ginny somehow managed to hold her tongue for ten seconds. "Who was that?" she finally asked Hermione with a grin.
Hermione sighed, ignoring her friend's question. "I hate you, Gin," she told her. "We agreed on an hour, not three!"
"You should be thanking me! Without my stupid brain, you would have never met this guy!" Ginny defended herself. "I just lost track of the time with Harry. We left the ball an hour before the end, he brought me back to our room, and..."
"I don't want to hear the rest!" Hermione shushed her, covering her ears.
Ginny smiled, not at all embarrassed. "Sorry. So, who was this boy?"
They had arrived in front of the portrait and as Hermione said the password, the old couple smiled at her, knowing they had done her a favor by not letting Hermione go back to dorm 12 two hours ago.
"I don't know," Hermione admitted. "He bumped into me, we talked for a long time and we danced to one song. The end."
They took the stairs and went to Ginny's room. "Please don't tell McGonagall," Ginny started, opening the door. "Harry and I found a spell that puts the two beds together." That was when Hermione noticed Harry was already asleep on the bed, his glasses in one hand while he snored.
"I won't tell Gin." Hermione rolled her eyes. "What you two do isn't my business." She went to their bathroom and stripped out of Ginny's red dress. Ginny handed Hermione her school uniform from the other room and she quickly changed back into them.
She then splashed some water on her face to get the small amount of makeup off. She pulled the pins out of her hair and shook her head, her curls falling on each side of her face. "Thank you for lending me the dress, Gin," she whispered to her while getting out of the bathroom.
"You're welcome. Did you at least have fun?" Ginny asked her with a worried look. "I don't want to go to bed knowing you hate me."
Hermione laughed quietly. "Yes, I did. Thanks to him. Can you believe that he knew some Muggle authors? I think the only other person in Hogwarts who knows them is Harry." Ginny raised her eyebrows suggestively and Hermione noticed, so she shook her head in dismissal. "No, I don't feel like that."
"If you say so," Ginny drawled on, smiling knowingly. "Go get some sleep, Hermione."
"Bye, see you tomorrow," Hermione told her, closing the door of their room behind her. "Luna?" she asked in surprise, seeing Luna sitting near the door with Malfoy written on it. She approached her friend. "What is it?"
Luna raised her head. "Oh, Hermione! I just wanted to talk," she told her.
They both went inside her room. "Let me just change!" Hermione told Luna, grabbing her nightclothes and going to the bathroom. A few minutes later, she came back and sat on her bed with Luna who was still wearing her blue dress, plucking the ribbons from her hair.
"Do you need help with those?" Hermione asked and Luna nodded. Hermione sat behind her friend and carefully pulled the ribbons out of her hair.
"I think I like Blaise," Luna suddenly said and Hermione tugged brutally on the ribbon she was holding because of the shock.
"Sorry," she muttered. "How so?"
Luna tilted her head. "I don't know. Like that."
Hermione sighed. "It isn't very precise, Luna," she laughed. "What did Blaise do to make you like him?" she helped her.
"He was very thoughtful with me the days after he woke me up at two in the morning, I suppose. And after I forgave him, he was nice. He gave me tulips even though I didn't tell him they were my favorites. And Ginny said he had asked her some things about me." That surprised Hermione. "And he always makes me smile. And he doesn't look at me as if I'm crazy anymore."
