Spider-Man x Michelle Jones

Chapter 3

Michelle lay on her bed staring at the picture of Peter on the pin board contemplating how to gain her evidence to confront Peter about Spider-Man. After a few moments of just sitting in the dark and alert on her phone popped up.

Spider-Man arrives at inferno!

Michelle instantly opened the live stream to see Spider-Man approaching a fire fighter. "HEY ARE THERE ANYMORE PEOPLE IN THERE?" called out Spider-Man over the roar of the flames. "ACCORDING TO THE RESIDENTS THAT GOT OUT OF THE BUILDING THERE IS A BABY TRAPPED ON THE TOP FLOOR, THE FIRE DOESN'T LOOKED TO HAVE REACHED IT YET SPIDER-MAN!" called back the fire fighter on the live stream. She watched as Spider-Man nodded and replied with, "ALL I NEEDED TO KNOW!"

Spider-Man shot a web and flung himself into the building through a window causing it to smash to pieces. Michelle watched with baited breath as more smoke and flames engulfed the building. Soon the fire department were shouting at everyone to get back that the whole building was coming down. "Come on Peter where the fuck are you?" whispered Michelle as she watched the video carefully not wanting to miss his spectacular exit. But time passed and there was still no sign of Spider-Man. She could hear the crowd on the video muttering among themselves echoing her thoughts, wondering if Spider-Man was going to make it out.

Then to her horror fire shot out of the windows on the top floor of the building and collapsed, falling down upon the hero and the child he tried to save. Michelle's hand shot to her mouth to stifle a cry as she realized that she just watched the death of Peter Parker, the Spider-Man live on her cell phone. 

She cast her phone aside as the video was still playing and she finally realized that there were tears falling upon her cheeks. She wiped them away and looked towards the pin board seeing all the photographs of the Spider themed hero and all she could feel was regret that she never did tell him the truth about why she acted the way she did all those years ago.

Peter lay within the debris of the collapsed building clutching onto the baby for dear life. Then he realized, the building came down on top of him but he's still alive. He could hear the baby girl in his arms still crying, she was alive! He tried to move his limbs but he was trapped under a huge slab of rubble with no way of escaping. He could hear the babies crying somewhat intensify and he knew there was only one way they were getting out.

Peter takes a deep breath and begins pushing with his back against the slab of rock that was on him and the baby. "Come on you can do this...come on Spider-Man lift!" yelled out Peter as he pushed with all his might. He could feel the rubble shifting and could see some small amounts of light coming through the cracks in the rubble. He raised his free hand and started pushing even more as the slab of rubble started moving; Peter held onto the little girl tightly as he let out a huge roar and lifted the slab into the air and pushing it to the side revealing a cheering crowd and several news vans with their cameras focused on Spider-Man.

The fire fighters were clapping and cheering as Spider-Man limped down from the rubble and collapsed to he knees taking a deep gulp of air. The fire fighter that he spoke to before hand approached and Spider-Man held out the little girl, "Make s-sure s-she's okay," coughed Spider-Man. The fire fighter nodded and took the baby from his arms carrying it over to the awaiting parents and paramedics. A small smile dawned his face as he saw the parents of the little girl cry with joy as they reunited with their baby, it made him feel like he managed to achieve something. He shakily stood to his feet as the news crews attempted to surround him for an interview and paramedics tried to get him to an ambulance.

"I'm sorry but the interview is gonna have to wait, I have to continue my patrol," said Spider-Man as he shot a web into the sky and launched into the New York skyline. People kept taking photographs of the red and blue hero until he was nothing but a spec in the sky.
