Spider-Man landed onto the rooftop of the warehouse, he was alone. Spider-Man looked around the dialect rooftop but could not see any sign of the Black Cat. "Why this particular rooftop?" he asked himself as he approached the ledge and knelt down looking over the docks.

"It's because it was a wild goose chase Spider-Man," says a deep male voice from behind him. Spider-Man turns quickly and ready to fight but calms down when he sees his good friend Daredevil standing there with a smirk on his face. "What's so funny Matt?" asked Spider-Man frustrated as he crossed his arms.

"I am blind and even I can see what is going on here," says Daredevil as his smile grows wider, "Peter she is totally into you and this whole thing is exciting for her. I have been tailing you two for a while now and I didn't intervene before because I can tell she wants nothing more than to prove she can keep you on your toes."

"Yeah I call bullshit," says Spider-Man  as he shakes his head, "How did you even know about her in the first place?" Daredevil shrugs I saw her running across the rooftops one night and followed her, that was the night she found you with the bag of her clothing. I didn't intervene and watched from afar. Her heart raced when you were close to her and I could smell the endorphins from her when you webbed her to the wall. All this is just a game to her nothing more than a way to prove herself as a worthy equal."

"Okay so let's assume that this is all some elaborate way for her to say she likes me," begins Spider-Man, "Then why hold the threat of my identity over my head?" Daredevil chuckles and leans against a ventilation unit, "It is so fucking obvious I am surprised you haven't figured it out. Deadpool could figure this out. She already knew who you were Peter. Think about it, she went into the Avengers Compound and got caught instantly. She was still a novice, she would not have had enough time to go through everything and come to the conclusion of your true identity. Black Cat knew your name before and to get away I am guessing she said that knowing it would throw you off. Think about it how scared did she look when you confronted her at the Compound?"

Peter thought back and remembered her falling out of the vent and looking hurt; she also looked terrified. "She was scared," he says to himself. "Of course she was! This whole getting you to do what she wants thing is just a bonus she came up with for herself, didn't you think it took her too long to come back? It was because she didn't know how to approach you next. This was it her only chance."

"When you explain it like that it actually makes a lot of sense," says Spider-Man, "You said you were tracking her. Any idea where she is?" he asks with a slight sliver of hope. "She is still in the vicinity but not close to us...her heart beat is faint meaning she is watching us both from a distance, the only vantage points would be the cranes in the docks. She must be on one of them," responds Daredevil with a smirk.

"Thanks Matt," says Spider-Man as he turns to look at the cranes, "And tell Wade to stop stealing my web shooters from my lab."

"Will do buddy," says Daredevil with a laugh as he runs to the ledge and jumps shooting his line and disappearing into the bowels of New York. Spider-Man doesn't take his eyes off of the cranes he knows she is there and he knows she won't move until he does. "Karen launch the drone," says Spider-Man to his AI companion. A small golden spider drone shot out of the back of the Iron-Spider suit and launched towards the cranes. As soon as the drone got close to the cranes Spider-Man could see a figure jump off of the crane and land on the docks before sprinting away.

Spider-Man jumped off of the roof and swung through the air on his webs chasing after the figure, "Karen have the drone head them off and use web shot." Spider-Man was right behind her and she looked over her shoulder before a golden spider-drone appeared in front of her and shot a web at her feet trapping her and causing her to fall over. Spider-Man landed on the ground next to her, "Karen deactivate the drone."

Black Cat groaned in pain it was obvious she had landed on her wrist and injured it. "Sorry to do this Cat but this needs to be evened up a little." Spider-Man webbed her hands to the pavement and knelt down next to her reaching for her mask. "No please d-don't take it off please!" she begged and he could see the tears falling from her eyes. Spider-Man paused his red armored hand outstretched, "Sorry." He reached forwards and grabbed her mask pulling it off.

The change was instant, her eyes changed to dark pools of brown and her hair slowly changed from white to brunette within seconds and Spider-Man staggered backwards in shock, "M-Michelle!?" He couldn't believe his own eyes, Michelle Jones was the Black Cat! Matt was right she had already figured out his identity way before Black Cat appeared! It all clicked into place, but he was pulled from his shock by her sobs. He looked down at her and she was actually crying, she had turned her head away from him so she could cry.

"P-Please d-don't hate m-me," she sobbed from the ground. Spider-Man stood there uncertain of his next move. "I-I just wanted y-you t-to l-like m-me," she cried into the dirt of the docks, "B-But y-you didn't l-like me as M-Michelle s-so I thought y-you w-would like m-me as Black C-Cat."

"I did this," muttered Peter to himself as he looked down at his hands with shame. He remembered how he had dismissed Michelle's feelings for him so easily. It must've hurt a whole lot more when he started dating Cindy which was when the Avengers Compound break-in happened. God he was such a fool for doing this to her.

"Michelle...I could never hate you," says Spider-Man as he knelt down next to her and looked into her eyes, his helmet retracted back into his suit so he could see her face, "I am so sorry I caused you to do this just to get my attention. I was an idiot who treated your feeling like dirt and I am so sorry." Michelle couldn't believe what she was hearing, Peter Parker didn't hate her guts for tricking him, he was actually apologizing. Peter grabbed the webs and ripped them off her hands and feet releasing her from the docks ground.

Peter helped her to her feet and pulled her into a hug, "I am so sorry Michelle." Michelle didn't even think to argue or say anything she just hugged him back, "So am I." They stood like that for a while and when they broke apart Peter smiled at her, "Gotta say the suit is impressive." Michelle blushed at the compliment, "T-Thanks I made it myself."

Peter's eyes fell upon the wrist that Michelle was clutching tightly to her body, obviously it was injured, "Here let me take a look at that for you," he says kindly taking her wrist into one of his armored hands, "Okay Karen initiate a scan for injuries." Peter holds the older hand over the wrist and a green light comes from it and lights up Michelle's hand for a brief moment.

"Scan complete," says Karen from the suits external speaker system, "There is no damage done to the bones in the wrist however there is some strain caused to the muscle in other words a sprained wrist." Peter nodded, "Okay switch web cartridge in the shooters to binding."

"Peter what're you doing?" she asked apprehensively. "One sec," says Peter as he shoots a web onto her wrist and keeps working on it until it forms a sort of protective wrist strap, "That will keep your wrist from moving too much." Michelle looks away from Peter and to the mask on the ground that she was wearing, "This changes things between us doesn't it?" she asked sounding glum. Peter looked to where she was looking and saw her mask, "Yeah it changes things...but it doesn't have to be a bad change."

Michelle's gaze falls to Peter and she notices he is also looking at the mask, "What do you mean Peter?" she asked sounding a little confused. "Things are constantly changing, we cannot allow those changes to define us but to allow us to change with them. Michelle allow me to train you. Instead of being the Black Cat who is constantly after the Spider-Man why not be the Black Cat who is Spider-Man's partner. We can be allies...fight crime together. What do you say?" says Peter as his gaze fixes on her, "Want to be my partner?"

Michelle is in shock but then she smiles, "Yes! I am so ready to kick ass with you!" She rushes up to him and kisses him. Peter is surprised by it at first but then he leans into it and it becomes a magical moment between the two that will last them a life time.

"Heh told yah that they would kiss," says Daredevil from the rooftop. "Big deal call me when they grab each other's asses," says Deadpool, "The only reason I am here is because the author's boyfriend suggested it to her." Deadpool stands up and stretches before teleporting off of the rooftop and away from the scene. "Wow he is super weird," says Daredevil as he watches the start of the Black Cat and Spider-Man's new relationship.
