Chapter 9

Peter and Cindy have been dating for over a month and things could not be better for the young super-hero. They were both walking down the street whilst holding each other's hands, "So Pete I gotta ask. What's with Ned and Betty?" asked Cindy as she swung their hands back and forth a little in the winter air. "I honestly have no idea. One moment they are together and the next they are broken up; I swear they do this more than Ross and Rachael in Friends. Hell maybe more than Ted and Robin from How I Met Your Mother!" said Peter with a shake of his head. Cindy giggled at her boyfriends comments as they passed Mr Delmar's Deli.

"I SAID GET THE FUCK DOWN!" yelled a voice from inside the Deli. Peter grabbed Cindy and pulled her into the alley next to Delmar's. "Okay Cindy I need you to stay here and whatever you do DO NOT come out of this alley," says Peter as he kisses her cheek and rushed back towards the Deli. Cindy stood in shock for a second and stepped out to see Peter rush into the Deli that was currently being robbed! "Oh my god he's gonna die!" whispered Cindy to herself as she crept towards the window and peeked inside to see Peter casually walk inside.

"What's up man!?" said Peter casually as he picked up a bag of gummy bears and approached the counter. The masked man looked Peter up and down, "Kid are you being fucking serious right now!? I am robbing this joint!" said the man as he pointed the gun at Peter.

Peter snatched the gun from the man's hands and disassembled it in seconds before throwing the parts of the gun onto the floor away from the man. Peter then judo flipped the man onto the ground and leaned on his chest, "You do NOT come into my godfather's Deli and hold him at gun point. Got it!" said Peter as he punched the ground next to the man's head.

"Y-Yes," whimpered the man in fear. "Good now I am taking this," said Peter as he took off the mask and pulled out his phone taking a photograph of the man. "You will get out of here and get your life straight and if I ever hear that you did anything bad I will send this photograph and the CCTV footage of the attempted robbery to every precinct in New York," said Peter as he stood up and held out his hand helping the man to his feet, "Now go and make something of yourself or I will make good on my promise."

The man ran out of the store as quick as possible and Peter watched him...until his eyes met that of his girlfriend in the shop window. Yup totally busted. Delmar grabbed Peter and pulled him into a hug, "That was amazing Peter! Thank you for stopping that man." Peter returned the hug, "I'll always help you Mr Delmar."

"Peter what the fuck!?" shouted Cindy in shock as she ran into the store and flung her arms around her boyfriends frame and hugged him tightly, "Oh my god you could have died!" Peter sighed and hugged her back, "Yeah sorry."

Cindy broke away from Peter, "How the hell did you do that? I mean Flash beats you up and you do nothing but one guy has a gun and you turn into Chuck Norris! This is like impossible! H-How did you do that?" Peter looks towards Mr Delmar who shrugs his shoulders and goes back behind the counter to continue working. Peter looks back to Cindy who is looking at his with wide eyes that re filled with wonder. "I don't fight back against Flash because I could hurt him badly if I do something wrong. So I don't fight back. As for how I did that I take self-defense lessons."

"Oh that explains a lot," says Cindy as she looks Peter up and down, "I mean you are in incredible shape for someone who used to have an asthma attack walking up the stairs at Midtown." Peter shook his head, "Look this is something I have a hard time talking about so can we please stop talking about it?" Cindy nodded her head and grabbed Peter's hand as they both left Delmar's Deli and headed home.

Peter sat in his lab at the Avengers Compound working on some upgrades for his Iron-Spider armor. His mind was racing from all the events that had happened in Delmar's store, Cindy was very close to finding out about his alter-ego and as much as he likes her he knows he is not ready for her to find out about Spider-Man.
