Deep in the middle of the night, Jimin woke up from a bad dream.
He shot up in his bed, panting, and looked around to make sure he was still in the place where he'd gone to bed. And luckily, he was. He was safely in his dormitory, all of his fellow second-years sound asleep.
A soft sigh escaped his lips and he felt the need for comfort. His dream had been rather scary and he needed a friend.
I miss Taehyung, he thought with a pout on his face.
Even though at these times he wouldn't even be able to go to Taehyung for comfort, it was now during midnight that Jimin deeply felt the absence of his best friend.
Lightning flashed outside and Jimin only had to wait for a few seconds before he could hear the thunder. He shivered, thinking about his dream. He didn't want to think about it in too much detail, but he couldn't shake the anxious feeling and he kept thinking about what he'd seen.
Taehyung had appeared in the dream, his eyes dull and empty as he pointed his hand towards Jimin. Behind him, a creature Jimin had recognized as a Thunderbird. It had the head of an eagle and with its three pairs of giant wings floated behind Taehyung. Its wings were golden and white, until Taehyung started speaking, and they turned an electric blue.
With a few mumbling words, Taehyung had sent it straight at Jimin.
Thank god Jimin woke up before the Thunderbird got to him.
Jimin contemplated whether or not he would go to the third years' dormitory and wake up Yoongi. It was usually a death wish to wake up the elder, but Jimin knew Yoongi wouldn't kill him if he told him he'd had a nightmare.
Still, he didn't want to disturb the boy. Last night, before they went to bed, had been stressful after all.
Jimin, Jin and Namjoon had called all the boys together and told them about their suspicions of Abigail, and Taehyung being nowhere to be found. Sadly enough, they'd already gotten caught while trying to leave the castle. They couldn't try it again; they had to wait...
...which angered Yoongi, because he wasn't patient if it came to situations like these. He and Namjoon had a small fight about it, Yoongi yelling that he was a coward after all and Namjoon hissing some painful words as well.
Jin and Hoseok broke the two of them up before it could get out of hand, but the result was that none of them went to bed at ease.
So, that's why Jimin decided not to go see Yoongi.
However, he didn't want to stay in his bed, so he put on his slippers and walked down the stairs and into the common room. He yawned and made his way to the couches. Down there, he couldn't see the lightning flashes from outside, but he could definitely hear the rumbling of thunder. He wondered if he could fall asleep again later; he was a light sleeper and the sound of thunder usually kept him wide awake.
Jimin let out a surprised 'oh!', when he noticed there was already someone sitting on the couch.
Someone, none other than Yoongi.
"Hyung, are you okay? What are you doing down here?" Jimin asked, making Yoongi turn his head towards the younger.
Yoongi's eyes showed he had hardly slept – or maybe he didn't even go to bed? – and Jimin was feeling worried, so he sat down next to his friend and grabbed a pillow, holding it in his arms and resting his head on it.
He knew by the look on Yoongi's face that he wasn't in the mood to talk, so Jimin just spoke instead.
"I had a bad dream." He started, adding a sigh at the end. "I just woke up...I thought about missing Taehyung...and waking you up...but then I just went here."
