"What's the time difference between us and Jennie?" I ask staring at my phone waiting for something from Jennie. Today is our show and her dad's funeral but she hasn't texted me since she got to her moms place.
"She's eight hours behind us." Ashton speaks while fixing his hair in the mirror. The show starts in 30 minutes and I was hoping to talk to Jennie before I went on.
Instead of a text, I'm notified that Jennie tweeted.
Hey guys, I'm sure you know by now I won't be able to make it to the shows in London with the guys. I'm really sorry for the late notice..
Also thank you all for your condolences and such. I love you guys vv much xx
I was going to try and call her but then we were called to the stage. The show went on and by the time we were hallways through it was my turn to talk.
"How are you guys tonight?" I ask breathless as the crowd cheers in return. "Good to hear." I laugh looking out to the crowd.
It still amazed me how far we've come from our YouTube videos and I pray that all of these fans know how grateful we are for this.
"Anyways.. As you could tell, Jennie couldn't be here today." The crowd aw'ed. "Unfortunately she's going through a tough time and I hope she knows the boys and I are thinking about her and sending positive vibes."
"Send her love if you get a chance!" Ashton speaks from behind me and I nod.
"Anyways, this next song is dedicated to her. This is Beside You."
The crowd cheered and sang along lighting up their phones and it was beautiful.

"Should I call her?" I ask Calum since Ashton and Michael were in the back of the bus and we were in the front.
"If you want. Keep in mind she's probably busy and emotional right now, don't feel bad if she's not updating you every five seconds." He raises an eyebrow.
"I know," I whine pouting, "I'm just worried." I say more to myself as I find her contact and click the phone to call her.
"Hello?" Her voice rings through the speaker and I feel my body relax.
"Hey," I breathe. "How are you doing?"
"Oh, I'm fine. Weirdly haven't cried much today. Just more of getting a lot of pitiful looks from the family." She sighs sounding distracted. "Isn't it late there?" She asks suddenly.
"It's like barely eleven." I shrug even though she can't see me.
"Timezones are weird. It's barely three here." She laughs and it's the first I've heard since she got the news.
"I miss you." I admit. My heart clenched at the thought of sleeping without her again tonight.
"I miss you too. I'll be back soon." She assures me. "Hang on." I hear muffled voices before she speaks again. "I have to go but I'll call you tomorrow." She promises along with an I love you and hangs up before I get to reply.
I sigh looking at my screen which is a picture of Jennie laughing. "What happened?" Calum asks.
"She had to go." I say setting my phone down and standing to get a water.
"Hey, don't worry about it. Once she's back and on stage she'll be fine again. Things like this take time." Calum pats my shoulder giving me a sympathetic smile.
"I hope so." I nod along deciding to call it a night.
