Thirteen - Summer Love

Louis texted me at 1:16pm. The interview is live on channel 34 in a few minutes xx.

I immediately changed the channel and watched the interviewer introduce One Direction.

The boys all walked onto the stage confidently smiling. They were always made to comically sit on one sofa that was never quite big enough to fit all of them, and today was no different. Harry sat on the end, then Niall, then Liam, then Louis on the other end. I watched Louis' every movement as he played with his hands and shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He was nervous and it was obvious.

"Welcome One Direction!" The male interviewer named Eric announced to the audience.

"Thanks for having us." Liam smiled. I was grateful that his cheek hadn't bruised, but the same couldn't be said for my fist. Louis had some scrapes and small bruises on his own fists but they could easily be explained away from a fall. I reminded myself to text Liam after the interview and apologize for hitting him.

"So you guys have started your fifth tour this week, how is that going?"

"Great, I think. We were really excited to finally bring Made in the AM on the Road." Niall answered for the group.

"And you have a new headline artist, Cassidy Harris. How does she stack up against your previous headliner 5 Seconds of Summer?"

Harry answered. "We miss those guys a lot but it's nice to have a new sound every once in a while."

"Speaking of Miss Harris, rumor has it that you've been sneaking around with her, 'ey Louis?" The interviewer teased, trying to get a rise out of Louis.

Louis smiled, going along with the act. "Yeah, Cassidy and I have been dating for a few weeks now. She's a wonderful girl." I smiled at his quick answer.

"Wow! She's nearly eight years younger than you, go get'em, tiger!" The interviewer pressed on.

"I think her birthdays in a few weeks actually." Harry chimed in, helping Louis.

"We're seven years apart." Louis corrected Eric. "But she's very mature, and I'm known for being very immature." He chuckled.

"What do the other boys think of your relationship?" Eric asked.

"Lads?" Louis chuckled, facing the other boys.

"She's got a lovely personality." Harry smiled. "We're good friends already."

"I would agree, she's really sweet. Louis' a lucky guy." Liam answered with a smile, though I could tell it was slightly forced.

Niall nodded in agreement. "Cass is super talented, I'm glad we have her around."

"Alright, that's enough." Louis laughed. "You can't have her."

"So where is Cassidy? You don't seem to have brought her along for the interview?" I sucked in a worried breath awaiting Louis's response.

"She has a nasty bout of food poisoning, something she ate." Louis smoothed over his words effortlessly and I let out the breath I was holding in. "We hope to have her back by tomorrow."

"Yeah, Louis is becoming insufferable already!" Niall teased.

"Hurry up and get better, Cassidy!" Harry chuckled. "We can only take so much of Louis' whining."

"I do not whine." Louis teased back, shaking his head with a smile. "I can't help but miss her." I watched him fondly on the screen as the camera panned back out to show the entire band again.

"Some of your fans in the audience have some questions," Eric pulled out some pre-printed cards. "Darla from Cardiff wants to know what you all do to get ready before a show," Eric asked the boys about five questions before the killer question everyone was waiting for came out.
