It was a school day, specifically Monday to be exact. Everyone was tired from waking up too early, but they still had to go to school. Somehow, you were able to make it to three classes today. This time, you were stuck in your fourth class today right before lunch. Your fourth class being history class. You didn't have a problem with it, but there was a lot of information for you to handle. So now here you were, sitting in a class filled with all unfamiliar faces as you listened to your history teacher filling your brain with information about the Taisho Era.

What's today's date? You looked at the calendar.

Ah.. 24 September 2177.

You grumbled in agony. You forgot to eat breakfast today, so you continued to wonder how much time do you have left until lunch. 'I wonder if I brought enough money today.' you thought as you decided to take out your wallet from your booksack. You only had $3.00 and that was enough for a vending machine snack and water. You sighed as you wondered if you could ask Tanjiro for some money.

I wonder how Tanjiro is doing in music class. Ah..

You chuckled silently at the thought of the burgundy-haired boy. Tanjiro was your childhood best friend and your partner in crime. Without him, you'd probably be starving every Monday since you kept forgetting to bring enough money for the week.

You put your wallet back into your book sack and began writing down the notes from the lecture your teacher was giving. As you were writing, your teacher gave a deeper history lesson about the Taisho Era of Japan and she the mentions the Demon Slayer Corps.

"During the Taisho Era of Japan, the Demon Slayer Corps were a group of swordsmen that protected humanity from demons. They had set out to attack Muzan Kibutsuji in order to save humanity." the history teacher stated as she writes notes on the board for everyone to copy.

Hm? If so, how did they fail their job so badly?

Why are we still being terrorized by demons constantly every night?

Curiosity struck you hard. You were about to raise your hands when another classmate raised his hand. He asked, "If the Demon Slayer Corps fought for humanity. Why are there still demons roaming around?" The teacher smiled at him and said, "Good question."

She then goes on to say, "Though the Demon Slayers did fight Muzan Kibutsuji, they had failed to kill him on time because he had killed them all. Even when the world was against him, he was able to defeat the Demon Slayers. That's why he's still alive today. No one even dares to question him." she stated as the student nods in interest.

Another student asked, "Did humanity even have the possibility to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji? Isn't the corps supposed to be a secret or something?" He tried to continue to ask questions, but the teacher stops him with a smile.

"There was a young boy who had the capability to kill him, yet he was killed due to major injuries according to the textbook. For your second question, the reason why we know this is because they had friends back at home to spread their names."
