Chapter 10: Start of the Journey

When Kiriya dismissed the meeting to let everyone talk, you were greeted by the girl with the melon-like hair. She was gorgeous, and her bubbly personality kind of overwhelmed you a lot. "Ah! Hello! What's your name?" she asked as you turned to see Zenitsu staring at you and her. He went off somewhere after you saw his red face as you turned back to this girl.

"Uh, my name is (Y/N) (L/N). How about you?", you asked as she blushes a bit and smiles at you, her pink bangs shifting off to the side a bit as she tilts her head.

"Ah! You're so nice and adorable! My name is Mitsuri Kanroji! I'm the Love Hashira! Wow, you're so cute." she said as she pats your head. You didn't know how to react to her attention, so you just kind of nodded along.

"Mitsuri." a voice called out to her as she stops and turns her head. "Oh! Obanai! Wait wait! Lemme say 'goodbye' to this freshman.", she said as she turns to you. She waves 'bye-bye' at you and ran off somewhere. When she ran off, you kind of just sat there confused. Tanjiro stares at you and laughs at your reaction as you look at him. You pouted a bit as you push yourself off your seat. After pushing yourself off your seat, Kiriya and Kanata began to lead everyone back to the plaza.

It took a while considering the stairs, but it was way faster since it was going back down into the underground city. Tanjiro still offered you a piggyback ride. You, being embarassed, just accepted this as Tanjiro carries you on your back. "Tanji.. This is way too embarassing. Let me down, I'm not weak. I'm strong!", you said as he chuckles at your words.

"Yeah? Well, I'll let you down if you admit that you need help walking with your rolled ankle. Regardless though, I'm not letting you down or you'll get another injury.", Tanjiro said as you glared at the back of his head. After that conversation, Tanjiro and you began to converse a lot. The two of you began to say dumb jokes as Zenitsu looks at the two you.

For some reason, Zenitsu frowned at the two of you. Usually, he'd be upset by this but try to move on as quickly as he could. Yet, for some reason he felt more upset than he usually was. 'No. Zenitsu, stop with it. They're best friends, and you shouldn't feel like this. Quit it.' Zenitsu thought to himself for a bit before catching up. 

"Wait up Tanjiro! (Y/N)!" Zenitsu shouts at the two of you, causing you to turn around and wave at him. Zenitsu waves back and began to run down the stairs.

"Stop with this weird feeling, Zenitsu." he uttered to himself as he ran towards the both of you, leaving Nezuko and Inosuke together. Nezuko was looking at Inosuke and waved. She turns to look at you before running up and held your hand. "Yo! Hey Nezuko. Why are your hands really warm.." you whined a bit as she laughs at you. "It's better than freezing cold hands." she said happily as you nodded along.

Inosuke didn't know where to put himself, and he was irritated at how you didn't pay attention to him. 'If she has all of these people around her, she must be a strong fighter. Eh? Well if I could win our fight, then I'll be the strongest!" Inosuke thought and began to grin. As a result of his conclusion, he ran to your group yelling, "Fight me!"

"Wait what.", you said bluntly as Inosuke points at you. "Daikon legs, fight me!", he yells again as Tanjiro shook his head. Nezuko was giggling at this as Zenitsu just stares at him.

"Daikon legs?! What do you mean by that? And no, I will not fight you!" you yelled back as the two of you had a little arguement. Mainly it was him trying to fight you while you refused. Inosuke turns to Tanjiro and yells, "If she won't fight me, you fight me forehead!" Inosuke said as Tanjiro's eyes widened.
