Chapter 9: Introductions

Your thoughts were racing once you heard your name getting called up. You felt an overwhelming feeling of happiness and joy. It was unnatural, but natural at the same time. It was like a whirpool of emotions. Due to your worries, you noticed you were clenching your bag. So, you released your grip on your bag before walking up.

You took a deep breath and began walking, more like limping, while hiding your small smile. While you were limping, you saw many people looking at you as you kind of felt a bit nervous from all of the eyes locked onto you. You looked around to see Tanjiro and Zenitsu smiling at you while Nezuko was silently clapping for you.

'Jeez.. They're adorable.' , you thought to yourself with a smile. Once you made it, one of the little gave you a uniform, folded neatly with the words 'DESTROY' showing. 

You chuckled at this while one of the girls called over your crow. Your crow flew out, though it was quite tinier compared to the other crows. It was bigger than Zenitsu's sparrow, but it was quite tiny. Your crow landed on your shoulder, puffing out it's chest confidentally. You grinned at it, lifting up your hand to pet it. It looked at you skeptically as you put your hand down.

'I guess it doesn't want to be petted. Awh man.' you thought as you turned to walk towards the little girl holding the ores. She lifted up to you as you looked at each ore. Personally, you weren't sure which ore to choose since it all kind of looked the same. Instead of choosing your ore strategically, you just chose the one that drew you in the most. The little girl nodded and ushered you to stand by your friends.

You limped towards them with a grin on your face as you stood next to Zenitsu and Nezuko. Those two were smiling at you as Nezuko held your hand in excitement. "We made it." she whispers to you as you smiled at her brightly. Zenitsu tugs on your sleeve and hugs your arm in happiness. The three of you decided to stop whispering towards each other and waited for one of the little girls to speak.

"This concludes the ceremony. These are the ten official demon slayers for this year.", she said as everyone began to clap. She holds up her right hand which immediately stopped people from clapping. She turns to the ten as she began to speak, "You ten are lucky since there were some years where there were no new official members. Don't get too cocky." The ten of you nodded while a cetrain boy with a boar pendant was beginning to puff out his chest confidentally.

She continued, "If your name was not called, please head to the building where you took your exam and find alternative jobs. As for the official Demon Slayers, please follow me." She then turns to you as the crowd began to disperse. Everyone began to talk as two of the little girls pushed passed the Hashira(s) gently. You stood their silently while the everyone else was walking. You were shaking in disbelief but in happiness.

You were overwhelmed with happiness as you began to smile to yourself. Zenitsu and Nezuko were still right next to you, in disbelief as well.

"You guys.. We made it." you whispered happily as Tanjiro ran up to you three in celebration. 

"C'mon! Let's go before they leave us!" Tanjiro shouted in joy as he smiles brightly. Nezuko was chuckling at her brother as Zenitsu smiles as well. "Oh man.. I thought I was going to die.. That guy with the gems and stuff scared the living heck out of me. His power.." Zenitsu muttered as he shuddered. You pat Zenitsu's back as Tanjiro chuckles.

"Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!" Tanjiro celebrated as he gathered you, Nezuko, and Zenitsu into a group hug while the four of you were walking. You were giggling at his happiness, completely forgetting that you rolled your ankle.
