*Third Person POV*

As the arena was cleaned of the last battle, Y/n and his pokemon stood by the bleachers and watched for any sign of who his next opponent would be.

"Y/n, that was incredible!" Leaf cheered, "Togepi learned Metronome!"

"Yeah," Y/n said, leaning against the railing, "Came in right on time too."

"Pi!" Togepi called, leaping up from where he and Nidoran were sitting in the dirt.

Y/n held the small egg pokemon in his arms, as he grabbed Y/n's hat and threw it on his own head. Y/n gave a smirk, as he turned back towards his friends.

"So, how big do you figure the next guy is going to be? I'm thinking eight feet."

"Oh please," Grady responded, "Based on the last two guys you went against, the next one better be at least nine and a half feet tall."

"Challengers, to your places!"

"Alright bud," Grady said, turning around to return to his seat, "Good luck."

"Thanks."

As Grady turned and began to walk towards his seat, Y/n and Leaf were left face to face. There was a moment of silence between them, before Leaf spoke up.

"So, um..." Leaf stammered, "Uh, good luck out there. To all of you."

"Thanks Leaf," Y/n replied, "Umm... maybe, if you'd like to... I don't know... go get dinner after all this?"

Leaf's face practically glowed bright red, as Bulbasaur gave a slight smirk. After stammering for a few seconds, she finally squeaked out an answer.

"S-sure."

"Great!" Y/n said, "See ya then!"

As Y/n ran back to the arena with Togepi and Nidoran. Leaf and Bulbasaur turned towards the bleachers and began to slowly walk back.

"Oh my Arceus," She breathed, her face still red as a smile planted itself there, "He asked me to go to dinner with him!"

"Bulba?"

"I know, I know," Leaf replied, "But what if he's really going to admit his feelings to me?! I have to find something to wear!"

Back with Y/n, Togepi was looking up at him as they returned to their position on the arena.

"Toge? Pi, pi?"

"I don't know," Y/n responded, "But she seemed really angry when Christine offered dinner to me earlier. I figured she'd be less angry if I asked her if she wanted to go to dinner. I wonder why she was all red though? Maybe she's getting sick."

"Nido!"

"You're right buddy!" Y/n cheered, "We gotta focus on this battle!"

"Alright challengers!" Christine announced, as the crowd settled down, "For the final gym battle, the challenger will have to face...Hurricane!"

The whole arena went silent, as the lights turned off. The air in the arena seemed to freeze, as thundering footsteps shook the very foundations of the arena. Y/n and his pokemon searched in fear for the source, only for a spotlight to illuminate the other side of the arena. The spotlight waved with the shaking, as a shadow slowly stepped into the light.

The entire arena went silent, as a man of about 4'5'' stepped into the arena.

"That's it?" Y/n asked, "Really?"

The lights came back on, revealing the arena and the surrounding audience in stunned silence. Christine gripped the mic in her hands, as she began to speak.
