*Y/n POV*

I finished the letter I was writing, rereading it once more for mistakes and errors. Deciding that it  was perfect, I slipped it into the envelope and licked it. Pressing the glue down and smoothing it over, I wrote the address and pushed a stamp onto the envelope.

"Okay," I said, "Now, how do I send this? I can't get out of bed."

As if on cue, the door to the room opened up, and Leaf stepped inside. She was followed by Keith, who briskly stepped into the room carrying a small package.

"Oh hey guys," I said, "Perfect timing. What's in the box?"

"Master Y/n, it's good to see that you are safe," Keith said, relief clear in his usually calm tone, "This is a gift of sorts, from Mr.E. He wants you to be the first to have this."

"Cool," Y/n replied, "Do you mind taking this to a post office? I need to send this to a friend."

"Of course Master Y/n," Keith answered, "I shall inform Mr.E that you are okay. I hope you get well soon."

"Thanks Keith."

"Goodbye, Ms.Leaf."

"See you."

Keith left, leaving Leaf and Y/n alone in the hospital room. Togetic was asleep on a nearby chair, and Y/n turned the package over in his hands. It was only maybe a half foot long, and only a few inches tall. It was  an inconspicuous cardboard box, nothing to suggest it was any more than a small present.

"Who was letter for? Your mother?" Leaf asked, "I bet she'd want to hear from you."

"No, I called her a few days ago," I answered, not taking his eyes off the package, "That letter was for a friend of mine in the Unova region."

"Really?" Leaf asked, "When did you go to the Unova region?"

"When I was five or so, my mom signed me up for a Summer Battle Camp in the Unova region," I explained, "We were each given a small Pokemon and they taught us how to battle and train and raise healthy Pokemon. When I was there, I met a boy named Cheren. We hit it off and even after I came back to Kanto we kept exchanging letters. One day I plan on going back to Unova and meeting up with him."

"Oh," Leaf said, somewhat dejectedly, "So he's your... best friend?"

"Hmm... probably," I shrugged, "I've known him forever and he's probably the person I'm closest to. So, yeah."

"Oh... alright."

"Anyway," I said, pointing the end of the box towards me, "I wonder what's in this? And why would Mr.E want me to have it?"

"I don't know," She sighed, "Why don't you open it?"

"Are you mad at me?"

"No," She huffed, standing up, "I'm going outside. I need fresh air."

She stomped out of the room and into the hallway, slamming the door behind her. I wonder what her problem is?

Either way, I ignored it and turned back to the box in my hands. I could hear something move around inside it, and I could barely contain my excitement. I reached out and tore the packing tape that was holding the end of the box together, giving me an opening.

I tipped it upside down and dropped the contents onto my hand. It was an oblong black box, one some one would use for carrying sunglasses or reading glasses. I popped it open and revealed the insides, a pair of sunglasses.

They were very similar to stereotypical cop aviators, with thicker gold rims that were maybe an eighth of an inch thick. The lenses were polarized lenses tinted black, and the temples were covered halfway down in a black plastic mean to make them more comfortable.

"Sunglasses?" I asked no one, "That's it?"

Tucked beneath the sunglasses was a folded up note, Mr.E's symbol drawn onto a corner of the note. I took it and unfolded it, seeing his neat cursive handwriting. It read:

"Dear Y/n,

It is with greatest pleasure that I received the news that you were safe. It was rather suddenly that you disappeared, but Bill explained everything.

Moving on, I bet you're wondering what these sunglasses are for. Well, they are a secret project from PokeTech Labs that will revolutionize battling.

The Tactical Battling Display (TBD) contain a specially designed display that reveals the status of Pokemon during and out of battle. It is our engineers' hopes that every trainer has a pair before the end of next year.

However, what you hold are the only pair currently made, a beta pair. Your job will be to test the glasses and judge if they are prepared for public release or not.

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Mr.E"

I put the note down and turned back to the glasses that sat in their case. They now looked even more cool, shining brightly in the rooms light.

I picked them up and hurriedly put them on my face, seeing what appeared to be a loading circle spinning in my vision. Finally the loading circle disappeared, replaced with:

"Welcome, Y/n. Booting up scanning sequence."

The words disappeared and I looked around the room, my eyes finally landed on Togetic, who was asleep on the chair still. Only for a small grey box to appear beside him, revealing a ton of information.

There was the name TOGETIC, beside a green bar that held a fraction beneath it. Beside the green bar was a simple, darker grey box with the letters SLP inside.

"Holy Arceus," I breathed, "Incredible."
