Star Wars Rebels: Sanity's End

Chapter 2

The town of Gravity Falls was burning and quickly turning to ruin when they finally arrived. All around were monsters chasing the residents and some were trying to eat them. Ford guided them to a bell tower and had Zeb and Kanan stand guard at the entrance. Thrawn, Hera, and Chopper were stationed just inside, while Ezra and Sabine were to be with Ford. Ford opened one of the windows and engaged the blaster. Ezra could sense that something was going to happen that would cause Ford to miss. His head darted in all directions. Nothing. Ford took aim. Ezra checked again. Still nothing. The blaster charged. Ezra disregarded his senses and joined Sabine in watching Bill Cipher's end.

"Hyuk!" They all heard from behind, "I'm a bell!"

Startled, Ford jerked the blaster up. The bolt flew through Bill's hat and destroyed a nearby building.

"Oh no!" Ford said.

Bill turned around.

"Oh, and I thought that this would be a very boring apocalypse!" He shouted.

He stretched out his hand toward the bell tower and made a fist. The bell tower was crushed with Ford, Ezra, and Sabine still inside.

"Sabine, Ezra," Ford said, "find my journals! They may have the only answer to destroy Bill!"

The rubble around them began to lift.

"Go! NOW!"

Ezra and Sabine ran down the stairs and met with Thrawn, Hera, and Chopper. They exited and met back up with Kanan and Zeb. They all saw Bill grab Ford out of the rubble. They couldn't hear what they were arguing about and took the opportunity to escape.

"How do we stop him?" Thrawn asked Ezra and Sabine.

"Ford said something about his journals," Ezra said, "that we need to find them."

"Then that's what we do."

They ran back to the shack. Stan had found Caesar Mackson in the forest and brought him back. He was checking his blasters' charges.

"Where's Ford?" Stan asked.

"He told us to find his journals," Sabine said, "Stan, where are they?"

"How should I know? I ran the tourist attraction to pay the bills, he did the research for science."

"But you're the grand regent," Caesar said, "can't you just order him to tell you where he puts his research?"

"Listen kid, one, I'm gonna need to talk to you about that. And two, maybe they're in his room."

The seven dispersed around the shack. Ezra and Sabine went into a room that was near an empty foyer-esque area. They looked around and Ezra found a sheet of paper with a strange code. He contacted everyone and they all went into the gift shop on a hunch. Ezra tapped the code into the vending machine. It opened out of the wall like a door. They all journeyed in.
