Stan bolted off of his seat.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" he asked.

Hera held up a hand.

"Not so fast," she said, "the Ghost has no defenses against whatever monsters Bill will throw at us."

"Why? You have guns and shields, don't you?"

"Yes--"

"So then let's go!"

He walked outside toward the Ghost. Wendy and Soos rose and just stood there.

"This is rather uncharacteristic of him." Wendy said.

"Well," Soos said, "remember back about a year or so ago? I don't think Mr. Pines wants to leave Ford again."

She shrugged. Zeb was watching Stan walking toward the ship. About halfway there an eyeball saw him. He began running for the ramp. He made it and the eye didn't follow him in. It was almost as if it lost sight of him as soon as he entered the ship. A few seconds later the eye left.

"Hera," Zeb said, "you missed one of the strangest things to happen with the Ghost since we got here."

Zeb backed away and allowed Hera to look out the window. She saw Zeb running full tilt for the Ghost attracting the attention of several eyes. Everyone was watching now. As soon as he was just inside the ship the eyes stopped and fluttered around. Zeb unstrapped his bo-rifle and shot the eyes that were outside. They fluttered in panic and flew away.

"Huh," Hera said, "I guess it isn't called the Ghost for nothing."

"Everyone to the ship." Kanan said.

Everyone ran toward the Ghost. While running they caught the attention of the eyes. They shot while running and downed several of the eyes. They made it to the Ghost, but Hera saw something stuck on a tangle of roots.

"CHOPPER!" she shouted.

"GO ON WITHOUT ME!" he said, "DESTROY BILL!"

An eye caught sight of Chopper and a red light surrounded him. To everyone's astonished horror, he turned to stone. The eye lifted him out of the tangle and flew away.

Hera closed the Ghost and started it up. The Ghost rose out of the forest and started towards the giant floating pyramid.

"Alright," Bill said, "how come with our infinite power, we CANNOT ESCAPE THE CONFINES OF THIS BACKWATER, TIME FROZEN, HICK SYSTEM!?!"

Lightning flared out of his hands. Scattering the monsters in his antechamber. He grabbed a platinum statue of Thrawn. His blaster was still drawn, and his stance balanced. He stared at the statue thinking.

Maybe, he thought, the Grand Admiral can help me yet again.
