I smelled them as soon as they walked in. Vampires. I couldn't figure out why they would show up now after all this time. I nearly snarled when I saw one of them with Vanessa. I didn't want any of those leeches near her.

When Nessie walked into the gym I waved her over and smiled when she made her way over to me.

"So who was that guy you walked into the lunchroom with?" I asked sitting down on the bleacher

"Oh, that was Kayden. He's a friend of mine."

She already considered him a friend? Honestly, just thinking about it irritated the hell out of me but I made sure not to show it. So now I had to play nice. I just hope we can avoid any bloodshed between the two races. That could cause major trouble not only for both families but for the humans who live in town. Maybe I should consider telling Nessie that I'm a werewolf sooner. If she has to be caught in the middle, then she deserves to know what she's in for. It looks like things won't be boring for a while.
