This is it. This is how it all ends. You stare up at your new "owner", A man in his early thirties with jet black hair that is tied up in a ponytail. He walks towards you with a leather whip. As he raises it up to hit you for your disobedience, a loud bang, almost like a gunshot, is heard. The man, startled at first, starts grumbling as he sets down the whip and walks to the door. He turns back to you before spitting out, "DO NOT LEAVE!" The door is slammed and you wait to see if anyone will enter. When no one does, you start looking for the nearest exit to the outside world.
To your right is the queen-sized bed that you've slept on for the past 7 months. Set right beside it is an old wooden nightstand that holds a lamp and a few knick-knacks that he has given you. Across from your bed is the doorway into the bathroom. It has a full-sized vanity with a stand-up shower that has two showerheads. Next to the shower is a bathtub big enough for at least three people, and of course, there's the toilet in its own little room in the corner. Through the bathroom is the closet. A part of your room that you despise, mainly because the only time you ever went into there was to get ready for whatever your master had planned for you that night. Directly in front of you is a window that appears to be slightly ajar.
You smile to yourself knowing it's only a two-story drop. You quietly make your way to the window and open it just enough to slip out. You let yourself fall into the bushes below and thankfully land without injuring yourself. Standing up you test everything just to be sure that you can walk. You nod to yourself when everything is indeed, in working condition.
You then take some time to look around and gauge your surroundings. You see Mt. Ebott in the distance. It's foggy tonight so it kinda looks like a giant that's resting. You shudder as a cold breeze rolls past you. Sighing, you look back towards the mountain. You had heard stories about that place. How kids had gone up there and never come back. It's better than this hell hole. You take one last look at the house you had called home, despite your burning hatred for, before taking off running towards your future.
After a few hours, you make it to the mountain and start to climb. It takes you about 5 hours to reach the peak, in your condition, that's not that bad. You fall down on the ground breathing heavily. It's not that you're in bad shape, it's the recent cut on your legs that seems to prevent you from going all out. Sitting up your eyes wander and rest on a huge hole in the middle. Intrigued, you decide to take a closer look. Housing yourself off the ground, you gingerly approach the hole. As you near it you trip over a rock and fall face-first in. Just your luck. The rush of the fall takes all the air out of you so it's no surprise that you blackout when you reach the bottom.
As you begin to regain consciousness you become aware of a splitting headache. You open your eyes and sit up, rubbing your temples in the process. You look down to see what cushioned your fall. You realize that you are sitting in a bed of yellow flowers. They look like buttercups. How pretty. Dragging your attention away from the flowers you see a doorway that leads into darkness. Looking around all you see is rocky walls. You look up only to be unable to see the sky above. Must've been a long drop. How did I survive that? Shrugging your thoughts away, you figure the hallway is your best bet as you see no other way out. Getting up off the soft flowers, you make your way to the doorway and enter.
"P-please don't k-kill me!" a shaky voice shrieks through the small room you had just entered.
You look around for the owner of the voice and eventually see a flower sitting in the middle of a patch of grass. Upon further inspection, the flower seemed to have a face and was staring directly at you. Looking closely at the strange flower you see that its petals seemed to be wilted. "W-why would I h-hurt you?" your voice comes out shaky and scared. You try to push your fear away as you look at the flower with concern.
"Everyone does." replied the flower.
The worry you felt earlier only grew. The poor thing looks like it's about to die. You walk up to it and gently touch one of its petals. It flinches at your movement but doesn't pull away. You smile softly, trying to keep your composure. "What's your name?"
"Huh? Oh, my name is Flowey. Flowey the flower." Flowey gives you a look of surprise when he sees you smile at him but doesn't seem to mind it very much.
You giggle at the name. "Nice to meet you Flowey. My name is (Y/n). What is this place and, not to be rude but, what are you."
Flowey smiles patiently at you before looking around as if to check that no one else was there. Once satisfied that you two are in fact alone, he explains. "This is the underground. It's where all of the monsters live, which includes myself. I like to consider myself the guardian monster because I am the first one a human meets when they fall down here. It also makes me feel important." He laughs nervously and turns his attention to the ground.
"Well, you are my friend so that makes you important to me." You smile your first genuine smile in a long time. It feels weird to be happy but it's also a nice feeling, you wonder how long this feeling will last. Hopefully longer than it normally does.
"You think of me as a friend? Really?"
You giggle at his childlike wonder and nod. "Yes, I do believe that we are friends"
