(Frisk POV):
The throbbing in my head is what woke me up. Opening my eyes, I see that I'm back in the underground. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I let my eyes adjust to the dim lighting before gingerly standing up. I'm immediately hit with a sense of lightheadedness as the throbbing intensifies. I clutch my small hands to my head. I retract them quickly after feeling something wet. I look at my now blood covered hands and start to freak out. I look around in a panic until I see that I landed on a rock when I fell. A sense of relief washes over me as I realize that I could've died already.
"Frisk, is that you?" I hear Flowey's voice call from the next room over. I sigh as I start walking until I reach him.
"Yes, it's me Flowey." My voice sounds foreign. No wonder, I don't use it all that much.
"Oh thank goodness. I thought it might be one of those wretched people." Flowey sounds like he's on the brink of crying. I sigh and walk up to him before I stop. Wretched people? Who is he talking about? He's never said anything like that before. My confusion must have shown because he speaks up. "Another human has fallen down here. She's afraid that she might have been followed."
"Another human? Who is she?" I try to keep my fear in check as I wait for his reply. It can't be. Yeah she was reported missing a few months ago but... what if she fell down here. If it is her; was she trying to end her life? My thoughts were interrupted as Flowey says the one name I don't want to hear.
"Her name is (Y/n)."
My face must've gone white because flowey stars freaking out. Eventually I come to my senses and calm him down. By this point, it's obvious that I know her. Or knew her is a better choice of words. Of course Flowey wants the story and won't stop asking so, I decide to tell him as we make our way through the ruins.
"(Y/n) and I used to be friends." My voice comes out in a sad tone.
"What do you mean used to be?"
"We used to live next to each other and play everyday together. I always looked forward to seeing her. But one day, that changed. On October 20th, 7 years ago, a gun shot was heard. As soon as people realized it came from her house, they freaked out. The police were called but when they showed up, only (Y/n)'s mom was there. She was the one who had gotten shot." I stop walking as the memory threatens to overtake me.
"Frisk?" The concerned voice of flowey brings me back to my senses. I smile a bittersweet smile at him and continue walking.
"The police wanted to interrogate her father but he wasn't there , and neither was (Y/n). This caused a lot of panic for the adults in our neighborhood. You see, (Y/n) was one of those kids that got along with everyone. She was very social and had some sort of friendship with everyone. At the time, I figured she was probably staying at a friends house. I didn't understand why the people around me were so scared. I do now though. Her parents were always fighting. Their marriage was always threatening to break apart. The only reason they stayed together was for (Y/n)'s sake. But, that was the last time I saw her. I always hoped she was safe somewhere with her father but... a couple of months ago; missing person's photos went up with her face on them. She looked absolutely gorgeous and I prayed for her safe return to her family. That is until I started looking into her disappearance. Something just didn't sit right with me. The person who reported her missing claimed to be her Uncle but he didn't show up in any of her family photos or on her family tree. That was the first red flag. The seconds were when all of the people who were actively trying to find her were men who claimed to be family but weren't. That's when I decided to look into it. That's also why I came down here later than usual. I found out that after her mom's death, she wasn't with her father. It's hard to keep track of where she went but all signs pointed to her being sold into sex trafficing. So I decided to come down here hoping she was here but also kinda hoping she wasn't. This place isn't the nicest for people like her. I just hope she isn't dead." My voice cracks at the end as I hold back tears.
"She's alive, she and Sans are dating." To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I never thought that he would ever open his heart to let someone through.I can't say I'm not happy though. She needs someone to be there for her and he deserves someone who can be there for him.
"That's wonderful. They both need someone in their lives so why not each other." Even as I said it, I knew it didn't sound convincing. I can't say I like Sans though. To be honest, I actually like Papyrus. I can't tell you why but, I do.
I stop and look up at the door that leads to the rest of the underground. As I'm about to open it I stop. "Where's Toriel?"
Flowey looks around before starting to freak out himself, "I-I don't know. We usually see her by now." As if on cue, Toriel steps out of the shadows and stands by the door.
"Somethings changed." Her voice is as soothing as ever. "I don't know how but, I remember you. I remember acting as your mother and treating you as family. We were on the surface." The surprise on my features was enough to confirm that these memories were real. "Please, my child, save us once again; and save that girl you so dearly care about." She turns and walks back into the shadows. I turn to flowey who shrugs. I look back to the door before pushing it open.
(Sans Pov):
Of course Boss sent me to my station today. Even after I told him about last night. I don't know what she was dreaming about but it couldn't have been good. She was tossing and turning all night. Occasionally she would let out a small whimper but stayed asleep. That is until she woke up screaming. It hurt my heart to see her like this. She refused to tell me what she was dreaming about and ended up leaving the room to take a shower. She was still in the bathroom when I left this morning.
I sigh as I look around, as I'm about to close my eyes for a nap, I see her. Frisk. She's back. I quietly teleport behind her, let the games begin.
~Time skip~
Frisk and I wander back into the house. She has fought and spared every monster in Snowdin, including Papyrus. I sigh as I sink into our couch. It's been a long day. I smile as I smell something delicious coming from the kitchen. I can't wait to see what (Y/n) is cooking.
(Y/n POV):
You can't stop thinking about the nightmare from last night. The fear still hasn't gone away. You sigh as you continue to make dinner. You decided to make steak and mashed potatoes. It smelled delicious but it did nothing to ease your mind. That is until you hear it.
"(Y/n) is that you?" It can't be her, she shouldn't be able to recognize me. You turn to the doorway and, sure enough, there stands Frisk. Unable to hold in your emotions any longer, you break down into tears. You feel Frisk wrap you in a hug while you silently cry away the woes of today. When you finally all cried out you turned back to dinner and made sure that it hadn't burned.
"I thought I'd never see you again." Your voice is broken but sincere. You truly thought that you wouldn't have the chance to see her again.
"I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere." Her words bring a smile to your face as you bury your head into her sweater again but this time to hide your smile. She has always known how to make you feel better.
You finish up dinner as Papyrus storms through the door. He makes a beeline to the kitchen as you finish plating the food. "Can you help me set the table?"
"Sure."
The rest of the day went by amazingly, you and Frisk retold stories of when you were both kids. Both of you were having trouble containing your laughter. Sans and Papyrus were happy that you looked so happy. It definitely was a vast improvement from this morning. Unfortunately, this didn't stop the nightmares from coming that night.
