Looking around, it's obvious that you don't know where you are. As everything comes into focus, you see that you are in a basement. Well, at least it's fitting. Getting up, you start to explore your surroundings. In front of you is the door that leads out. To your right is a small twin bed that looks like it's barely standing. To your left, you see a door. Intrigued, you decide to investigate. Upon entering, it is revealed to be a bathroom of sorts. There is a sink a few inches from the door and a toilet positioned next to it. You close the door and walk further in. It's not awfully small but it's not the biggest that you've been given. You look behind the door and see an old clawfoot tub with an attached shower. You see a small mirror above the door but decide that looking at your reflection is probably not the best idea.
Leaving the bathroom, you bake your way over to your bed, if you could even call it that. With further inspection. There is no mattress, the bed is made up of about four blankets stacked on each other. The bed frame isn't even a bed frame, it's made out of old cardboard boxes that have seen better days. Sighing, you sit down. This bed will definitely give you back problems. You put your head in your hands and try to remember what happened.
You don't remember much and what you do remember is very foggy. The further back you go, the harder it gets to remember. Unfortunately, you were so deep in thought that you didn't hear the basement door open or the man approaching you. You didn't notice him until he was right in front of you. You quickly look up to meet his eyes as you let your hands fall to your sides. Nothing is said, he just stares at you.
After a few minutes, he gently grabs your face and moves it side to side. He sighs as he releases you and takes a step back. "Stand up." His tone was commanding but you could hear in his voice that he would rather not do this. Standing up you take the time to get a better look at him. He's a man in his mid 20's, about 24 is. He has sandy hair that is shaved on the sides but has about two inches on the top. He has a handsome face but looks aged by stress and lack of sleep. The expression he wore proved that he'd rather not be here. "*Sighs* Look, you're here because my dad 'bought' you. He thought that with a little help, you could be something to me. I don't know why he thinks that but he does. Don't get me wrong, you're pretty and all but; I don't think you have as much potential as my dad thought. I've decided that I'll just give you to my uncle who is desperate for a woman. Maybe you'll be able to satisfy his needs." With one final disgusted look, he leaves you alone.
You sit back down and look around at the little basement that really does look like a prison, more so now than before. Taking a deep breath, you lay your head down and drift off to sleep. Only to be awoke a few minutes later by a gruff hand shaking you. "Get uppppp." The slur and the breath that reeks of alcohol is a dead giveaway that whoever is above you is drunk. You slowly open your eyes to see a man in his 40's almost 50's, laying above you.
"Sooo, you're the preshoush (precious) little lady that my nephews has given meeee." It takes everything you have to not back away from this man. You watch his eyes wander down your body and back up to your face. You try to smile sweetly but get slapped in return. What happened next is an unknown. Whatever he did to you, your brain decided that you didn't need it. Unsurprisingly, it did that alot with this man. The basement became your permanent home for the next few months and he came to see you almost every night.
The few times you do remember were only because of injuries he gave you. Thankfully, none of them left a scar. Some were small injuries like scratches while others were a bit bigger. Like the time that he was so drunk, in a fit to get you to lay down he somehow dislocated your shoulder. You steamed so loud that a maid came running in and had to call for help to get him off of you so she could put your shoulder back into place. He wasn't able to see you for a week so your body could heal from it.
Another time, he came down with a full bottle of whiskey. You knew that could only mean one thing but, what he did was not what you expected. When he left, the bottle was empty and you had to be rushed to the hospital because he broke one of your ribs. The story you had to tell the doctor was that you fell from a tree and landed on a rock. Of course that's not what really happened. In reality, when he was trying to take his clothes off while drinking, he slipped and all of his weight landed on your side. The crack that sounded afterwards scared him so bad that he gulped down the rest of the bottle and tried to run away. He somehow made you wish that you never ran away from the previous guy who owned you.
At the five month mark, the sandy haired guy returned. He saw how drunk his uncle was and that he was about to go into the basement. He asked his uncle to get him a drink, while his uncle was in the kitchen he asked the maids what his uncle had been up to with you. Most of the things weren't bad but when they told him how many times you had been in the hospital, he got really mad. He told the maid by the basement door to help you get out of the house while he distracted his uncle.
He didn't like you but, even he couldn't overlook the amount of things he put you through. That night, you escaped with the maid's help. You didn't know the reasons behind her help for a few weeks when a news story aired. It talked about the uncle and his alcohol addiction. The nephew also dropped hints that there was a girl involved and that he helped her escape. Unfortunately, his little act of valor was what caused you to get caught again. Though you were very grateful for his help.
