If you saw me on the street, you wouldn't think I was any different. Maybe you'd raise an eyebrow because of the limp, or you'd see the scars on my arms, and shrug it off, thinking I was a normal kid with daddy issues.

I'm anything but a normal kid.

You see, last year I found out that I was a wizard. Yeah, you read that right. I got accepted into the best magical school in the world, where I met some amazing people. I've made some awesome friends, got a new family, and I even have a boyfriend.

I'm weird for wizard standards, too. I'm not just a wizard. I'm a demigod. Half-mortal, half-god. I went to a summer camp for demigods like me this summer. I visited and met a bunch of other cool people. I met this boy named Grover, who is a satyr. Like a half-goat. He's awesome. I also almost got my head shoved into a toilet by a girl named Clarisse. I got the toilet water all over her. I made friends with the Hermes' cabins new counselor, Liam. He's awesome. He travelled across country with Draco and Luke when Draco was seven.

And to add to the weirdness, I'm not supposed to exist in the demigodish world either. My father is Poseidon, one of the big three. A long time ago he agreed to never sire any children. He obviously had me. So now I have to pretend that my parents just don't love me enough to claim me. Which very well might be true.

My life has really turned around since I learned I was a wizard. I used to live with an abusive, smelly walrus of a man named Smelly Gabe. Now, I live with an amazing guy named Luke. He's 18 now, and he's got a job as a police officer. He was in his last year of Hogwarts when I first went there. He's also a demigod, and taught me all of the fighting skills I know.

And even though some really bad things happened to me at the end of the year, I still smile. Because life is good. And it's going to get better soon.

My second year at Hogwarts is going to begin soon. I've got a month before I go back.

Speaking of Hogwarts.... there's this boy I know who goes there with me. His name is Harry Potter, and he's one of my best friends. His birthday is today. I've tried contacting him, but I haven't gotten to talk to him this whole summer. I've sent him letters with Luke's owl, but he never responds. And I went to his house once, but his aunt and uncle chased me away with a broom. One of their neighbors let me take shelter in her house.

So when I would have loved to have been talking to Harry and wishing him a happy birthday, I found myself standing behind the counter at a small bakery.

I'd gotten a job here at the beginning of the summer. I didn't need the money. I had a whole bank vault filled with bronze, gold, and silver coins. Instead, I worked here so I wouldn't get bored.

I'd been unable to skateboard due to my leg, which had been messed up pretty bad at the end of last school year. I didn't have any friends outside of school, and I haven't seen much of them either. So I worked at this bakery while I waited for school to start.

This sweet woman came into the shop every day. She always brought her twin children with her. They got a few muffins and we talked.

Today she looked at me, "Is there something on your mind? You look a little distant."

I sighed, "Yeah. A friend of mine's birthday is today. I've been trying to contact him all summer, but he hasn't answered at all. And when I tried to visit him, his aunt and uncle chased me away with a broomstick."

The woman nodded, "That's no good. Maybe you should sneak up his window. I did that with this friend I had once. We never got caught, you know."

I smiled and shook my head, "That'd be nice, but I can't. My leg won't stand climbing up to the second floor. It's a miracle I can walk on it already. I'd prefer to not make it worse for now."

The woman nodded, grabbing her muffins, "Actually, I've been meaning to ask you. What happened to your leg?"

I tensed for a moment before saying, "One of the teachers at the school I go to went psycho. Broke my leg and arm. Actually knocked that friend I was talking about unconscious."

The woman looked concerned, "That's horrible! What happened to him?!"

"He's in prison, I believe. Haven't heard much of it. We'll be getting a new teacher to replace him though, which will be cool. Hopefully they're better than the last one," I smiled, putting her money into the cash register.

The woman nodded, and looking a little sick, walked over to a table and sat with her kids.

I just continued to work.

Eventually it came time for closing, but I saw Ron and his twin siblings, Fred and George, walk in.

The lady was still sitting in the corner with her kids, typing away on her computer. She glanced up when the boys came in and Ron shouted, "Percy!"

"Ron, you know you could be a little more quiet? We're in public, and I'd really prefer to not get fired cause some friend of mine came in screaming," I said, smirking.

Ron rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Anyways, we have a plan."

"A plan? For what?"

"A plan to go see Harry, of course!"

"Ooooh, do tell. Whatever it is, I'm probably in," I said, smirking. If the twins were in on it, it was gonna be good.

"We're gonna take the car and go get him," Ron said simply.

I stopped smiling, "Oh, that's boring. I expected better from you, Fred and George."

Suddenly the twins smirked and spoke simultaneously in Greek, "The car flies."

I immediately smirked, "Oh, that's much better. How much trouble are we going to get in for this."

George started, "That's if we get caught."

Fred spoke, "Which we won't."

Then they spoke at the same time, "Attention!" They said, like a military instructor. Ron and I immediately straightened our backs and stood side by side.

"Repeat after us. This will be dangerous."

"This will be dangerous."

"We could get hurt."

"We could get hurt.

"Lives are at stake."

"Lives are at stake?"

"Our lives on the line."

"Our lives on the line?"

"We could be expelled."

"We could be expelled."

"We could get caught."

"We could get caught."

"And if we do, watch out, cause Mom will kill us," Fred and George concluded.

Ron immediately paled and I said, "She's not my mom. She won't kill me."

Fred and George nodded, "She will give you a hug."

Ron turned to look at me, "If I get killed by Mom, I'm going to poke your ankle."

"How's the head doing? Still got damage to the brain I'm guessing? You sure act like it," I smirked.

Ron scowled and said, "In a few days, be on the roof of your apartment block. We'll come get you."

I nodded, "Will do. Oh, Fred and George, give this to Molly, will you? I don't trust Ron to do it." I handed the boys a basket. They peeked inside and Fred asked, "Can I have one?"

"No."

The first chapter of the second book! Wow! I don't think I ever really expected to get here. This is amazing.
