The Weasleys and Grangers all split up once they got out of the vault. Perry went to get a new quill, Fred and George spotted their friend Lee Jordan, Mrs. Weasley and Ginny were going to get some robes, and Mr. Weasley was taking the Grangers for a drink.

That left Luke with a bunch of 12 (I'm 12 in two weeks, it's close enough) year old kids.

"We'll all meet at Flourish and Blotts in an hour to buy your school books," Mrs. Weasley said. "And not one step down Knockturn Alley!"

Luke and Hermione made sure we got all the stuff we would need for the year. Ink and parchment. Specific potion supplies. Things like that.

Then we got around to exploring. Luke followed behind the four of us, adding the occasional comment but seemingly happy anyway.

In Gambol and Japes Wizarding Joke Shop, we found Fred, George, and Lee Jordan with fireworks. We found Perry in a junk shop, immersed in a book called Prefects Who Gained Power.

"A study of Hogwarts Prefects and their later careers," Ron read off the title for us. "That sounds fascinating..."

"Go away," Perry snapped.

"Course, he's very ambitious, Perry, he's got it all planned out... he wants to be Minister of Magic..." Ron whispered to us as we left the junk store.

An hour later we started heading towards the book store. Lots of other people were heading there too. A large crowd jostled the entrance.

GILDEROY LOCKHART

will be signing copies of his

autobiography

MAGICAL ME

today 12:30 - 4:30 pm

"We can actually meet him!" squealed Hermione. "I mean, he's written almost the whole booklist!"

Witches around Mrs. Weasley's age seemed to be the majority of the crowd. A tired wizard stood by the door saying, "Calmly, please ladies... don't push, there ... mind the books, now..."

We managed to squeeze inside and grab all of our books. There was a lot, and it was a bit of a struggle to carry. Luke immediately took them all from me.

We managed to get to the rest of the Weasley's and the Grangers as they stood in line.

"Oh, there you are, good," Mrs. Weasley said. She kept patting her hair. I unconsciously patted mine. "We'll be able to see him in a minute...."

Gilderoy Lockhart looked like an Aphrodite kid. He acted like one, too. Luke and I immediately figured that he was a legacy, yet one who was unaware of his heritage by the looks of him.

A small, irritated man kept snapping pictures of the legacy, emitting strange, purple smoke from his camera.

"Out of the way, there," he snapped at Ron. "This is for the Daily Prophet."

"Big deal," I said, rubbing my ankle from when the photographer bumped it.

Lockhart heard me. He immediately looked up at me, then his eyes locked onto Harry.

"It can't be Harry Potter?" Lockhart leapt to his feet.

The crowd parted, whispering. I grabbed onto Luke, worried we'd get separated by the onslaught of people.

Lockhart grabbed Harry by the arm and pulled him to the front, shaking hands with my blushing friend for the camera. The camera wafted the thick smoke over us, and we all got teary eyed. Even Luke.

Eventually Lockhart let go of Harry's hand, but when my friend tried to come back to us, the older man threw an arm around his shoulders, "Ladies and gentlemen. What an extraordinary moment this is! The perfect moment for me to make a little announcement I've been sitting on for some time!"

"When young Harry here stepped into Flourish and Blotts today, he only wanted to buy my autobiography— which I shall be happy to present him now, free of charge—" the crowd applauded again, "— he had no idea that he would shortly be getting much, much more than my book, Magical Me. He and his school fellows will, in fact, be getting the real, magical me. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I have great pleasure and pride in announcing that, this September, I will be taking up the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"

Oh gods.

The whole crowd cheered and I watched Luke grab his biography. I gave him a look.

"It's not for me, it's for you. I have a feeling you'll use this as a textbook more than any of the others," Luke said, adding it to the pile.

I sighed, "At least they're in Greek."

"You'd probably die if they weren't in Greek."

I nodded.

Harry carried the large stack of books and tipped them into Ginny's cauldron.

"Bet you loved that, didn't you, Potter?"

I looked up and saw Draco. And his dad.

I don't like Draco's dad. At all. I've never met the guy, but the bruises he leaves on Draco is enough to warrant a murder.

Luke and I stood back while Draco argued with the rest of my friends.

Hermione and Ron have nothing against Draco. They figured out pretty quick that he only does the things he does so his dad won't hurt him as much. They even talk to each other when no one's around.

Harry, however, would totally get Draco killed. He'd share everything my boyfriend does to the whole world. That was clear to all of us.

Luke and I pushed our way to the cashier, who seemed pleased to have a customer who didn't want their books signed. I definitely did not want mine signed.

As I was shoving the books into my bag, there was a thud behind us. We both whipped around and saw Mr. Weasley on top of Mr. Malfoy and a shelf had toppled over.

I couldn't help but smile as Mr. Weasley punched Malfoy. I've been wanting to do that myself.

Draco was standing off to the side, smiling slightly.

More shelves got knocked over as people all tried to step away from the area of the fight.

Hagrid came and pulled the two apart. Malfoy's lip was bleeding, and Mr. Weasley's eye was swollen.

Luke grinned at Draco who smiled.

I watched Malfoy drag Draco off and walked to the Weasleys and the Grangers. We ended up leaving the store giggling.

The rest of the group seemed subdued as we left the store. Luke and I watched the rest of our friends from behind.

We ended up following the Grangers as we left the Leaky Cauldron, walking side by side as we went back to our apartment.

I smiled once we got home, "Can we have macaroni?"

"Macaroni? Why macaroni?"

"Because you can't cook and macaroni is easy to make."

"I hate you."

"You love me."

"I do, but I hate you."

I started reading a new book series last night. It's pretty good, but I have to pretend I didn't read the first book until I finished it at 3 AM, and then couldn't sleep until nearly 5 AM. I was totally expecting the whole 'Ha, guess who's secretly family!' Cliche, but apparently that wasn't the case. I've read two books recently that I can remember where their parents aren't actually dead, then another where they had a secret brother. It's a pretty good cliche, though. I'm all for those happy moments.

Anyway, I hope you all had a nice day. I can't say I did, cause I just woke up, but a good one to you. See you on Tuesday.
