I found myself on the roof a few days later. I had everything I would need shoved into my bag.
I'd told Luke the plan. He gave me a raised eyebrow and said, "Just be careful. You're already going to limp for the rest of forever. Who knows what could happen to you if you get in a flying car accident."
Then he'd helped me pack everything I owned into a small bag. You're probably wondering how I got everything I owned into a small bag.
The bag is magical. I had gotten it from my father's bank vault last year. It has an infinite amount of space.
Luke had been great to me. I loved him. He loved me. The best brother anyone could ever ask for, even if he's not my brother by blood.
Last year, I'd been called some pretty mean things. Being the crybaby I am, I ran off. Luke had comforted me until I literally fell asleep in his arms. That's the second time he dealt with a sleeping me. The first time I had been running laps for Snape. For two days. I'd been exhausted, dehydrated, and half-dead. I'd tripped and fallen, and Luke had caught me. I'd passed out in his arms then.
So I was alone on the roof of my apartment block. And then I wasn't.
An old turquoise car sat in front of me. Fred Weasley was behind the wheel and George was in the passenger seat. Ron was in the back, grinning at me.
"Nice," I said as I climbed in beside Ron, rubbing my ankle. He saw me rub it and said, "You don't have to come, you know that, right?"
I nodded, "I'm coming anyways. Not gonna let a sore ankle stop me."
Ron immediately smirked and we flew off, flying over the city.
I looked at Ron, "Can they not see a flying car?"
"It turns invisible."
I nodded and watched the little lights fly past. The people beneath us were the size of ants. I was a little nervous, but Hecate had talked to Zeus when she found out about the plan, and he wouldn't blast me out of the sky. To be fair, he didn't know who my father was yet.
Eventually the city turned into suburbs. I could see houses with their tiny lights on or off.
Eventually, we pulled up to Harry's house. I pointed to the window with bars on it, which was a little concerning.
We pulled up beside the window, and Ron knocked on the glass. He peeked through the bars and smiled at something. Or someone.
I saw Harry peek his face between the bars, ogling at the car.
"All right, Harry?" George asked, smirking at my friend.
"What's been going on?" Ron said. "Why haven't you been answering my letters? You haven't answered Percy's either. I've asked you to stay about twelve times, and then Dad came home and said you'd got an official warning for using magic in front of Muggles...."
"It wasn't me — and how did he know?"
"He works for the Ministry," Ron said. "You know we're not supposed to do spells outside school—"
"Bit rich coming from you," Harry said, motioning to the car. The floating car.
"Oh, this doesn't count," Ron said. "We're only borrowing this, it's Dad's, we didn't enchant it. But doing magic in front of those Muggles you live with...."
"I told you, I didn't — but it'll take too long to explain now. Look, can you explain to them at Hogwarts that the Dursleys have locked me up and won't let me come back, and obviously I can't magic myself out, because the Ministry'll think that's the second spell I've done in three days, so—"
"Stop gibbering," Ron said, "we've come to take you home with us."
"But you can't magic me out either—"
"We don't need to," Ron said, motioning towards his brothers. "You forget who I've got with me."
"Tie that around the bars," Fred said, tossing back the end of a rope to Harry.
"If the Dursleys wake up, I'm dead," Harry said, tying the rope tightly around the bars. Fred revved the car.
"Don't worry," Fred said, "and stand back."
Harry moves away from the window and Fred drove straight up in the air. The car was loud. Pulling the bars off of the windows was louder. It would be a miracle if the Dursleys didn't wake up.
Ron pulled the bars up, panting. Once there was enough slack, I pulled with him.
Ron tossed the bars into the backseat, smiling at me.
Then he turned to Harry, "Get in."
"But all my Hogwarts stuff... my wand... my broomstick...."
"Where is it?"
"Locked in the cupboard under the stairs, and I can't get out of this room—"
"No problem," George said. "Out of the way, Harry."
Fred and George were careful when climbing through Harry's window. They didn't make a sound. Kind of like a Hermes child.
Luke's a Hermes child. They're all very sneaky.
I looked at Ron as we waited for the boys to come back. I rubbed my eyes tiredly. It was pretty late, and I normally went to bed much earlier than this.
Ron glanced back at me, "You can sleep on the way back, but they may end up needing our help."
I nodded and threw stuff into the back with Ron as Harry passes them through the window.
Harry left for a bit, but then he came back with his trunk. Fred climbed back into the car to help get the trunk in from this end. We all pulled while they pushed. Slowly, the trunk slid into the car.
"A bit more," Fred said, "one good push...."
Harry and George pushes hard and the trunk fell in with me and Ron. We both pushed it to the floor, not even trying to get it into the back.
"Ok, let's go," George whispered.
As Harry was climbing into the car, Hedwig screeched a loud, shrill note.
Immediately, Dursley thundered, "THAT RUDDY OWL!"
"I've forgotten Hedwig!" Harry exclaimed, running back into his room. Ron immediately scooted over to sit closer to me, preparing to get Harry into the car.
Harry passed Hedwig to Ron. He passed her cage to me and I held on tight, staring nervously at the window.
I heard Dursley hammered into the door, flinging it open.
Dursley stood framed in the doorway for a moment. Then he roared and dove, grabbing onto Harry's ankle. Fred and Ron immediately grabbed onto his arms.
"Petunia!" Dursley bellowed. "He's getting away! HES GETTING AWAY!"
The boys have a mighty tug and Harry was yanked into the car.
"Put your foot down, Fred!" Ron yelled as Harry slammed the car door closed. We shot off, away from the house.
"See you next summer!" Harry called to the Dursleys. Everyone laughed.
I saw one of my cousins the other day. He's younger than me, but almost as tall as Emblem's boyfriend, who is 17. He's the same weight. It's not fair, I want to be tall. Also, his mom's having another baby soon. My cousin says that the baby is going to be ginger like him, and have blue eyes. That would be cool.
