In the morning, I woke up to see Draco frowning down at me. I groggily sat up and rubbed my eyes, looking up at him.
"You weren't in your room when I came here last night. Hogwarts wouldn't tell me where you were. When I woke up, you were covered with scratches and bruises. What the hell happened?" Draco demanded.
I frowned, "I made myself an enemy of the spiders."
Draco narrowed his eyes, "Tell me everything."
So I did. Draco looked at me as if I were crazy the entire time. I smiled weakly.
Suddenly, Draco wrapped me in a hug, "Don't you ever do anything like that again! I've lost you once, and I'm not doing it again!"
I nodded into his chest, and he pulled away.
Draco frowned softly, "Clean your scratches." Then he left.
I sat there for a moment, then went into my bathroom. It wasn't empty like I had expected.
Inside I found a gray-eyed goddess with bandaids and some antiseptics.
"Er, hello," I said, sticking my hand into my pocket.
"No need to grab your sword, Mr. Jackson. I'm not here to hurt you," Athena said, then pointed to the edge of the bathtub. "Sit."
I quickly did what was told, and tried not to feel too freaked. This was the second Greek deity I had met that year, so I should have been more used to it.
Suddenly, she was placing the antiseptic on the scratches on my face and pouring it on my scratched hands, "You really should have done this when you got to your room."
I nodded blankly, and Athena continued to clean my scratches. Then, she pulled away.
"You insulted me last night," she said simply, calculating eyes that looked so much like Draco's staring at me.
For a moment I thought about lying, but eventually said, "Er, yes I did, Lady Athena. I'm sorry."
"No need to be sorry, Mr. Jackson. I saw the situation you were in. If you didn't smell so much like my son, you could've pulled it off. It was a smart move in a dire situation. Now... about how you smelled like my son..."
I immediately tensed, and Athena noticed this, "Normally, I wouldn't be so wary of my son dating someone. Then I realized who he was dating. You look like your father. I've been suspicious of your heritage for awhile now. You confirmed it last night in the Forest. Thankfully, Hades and I got Iris to block that bit of your words from the other gods. They shouldn't have a clue. But your existence... it's worrying."
I nodded sadly, "I imagine my heritage will be catching up to me soon. Zeus and my father are fighting, aren't they?"
Athena nodded sadly, "Yes, they are. Do you know the prophecy about the child of the big three?"
I shook my head, "I know of the prophecy, but I don't know what it is exactly. I do know that children of the big three aren't supposed to be sired because of it."
Athena nodded, "Yes. If we kill you, the prophecy won't start when you turn sixteen."
I paled, "Ah, I suppose it wouldn't, but, um, that would just be delaying the inevitable, yes?"
Athena's eyes glinted, "Yes, but we'd have more time to prepare."
"So would whoever we'd be going against, right?"
Athena nodded, and said, "You're right. Keeping you alive and killing you both bring on problems. It's not your fault you exist anyway."
I nodded, and watched the goddess as she placed bandaids on my face.
"It is, however, worrisome that you may have inherited some of the worser traits from your father. Tell me, Percy, why is the olive tree better than the salt water fountain?"
I frowned, "Well... the olive tree brought food and... and wood to the people of Athens. It... the olive tree symbolizes peace and prosperity. It was the very first olive tree, so no one else had olives back then. It would bring them money because they could sell stuff, and plenty of other stuff the people needed... right?"
Athena tilted her head slightly, then nodded, "You're definitely smarter than your father."
I struggled to keep in a laugh. Athena smiled slightly, then said, "You make my son happy. He didn't have the best life growing up. He didn't smile until he left his home. Now, he's back in his home. You make him smile. His father is a bad person, but Draco has begged me not to kill him. The Fates themselves also asked me not to. I don't hate Draco's stepmother. She loves him. He loves her. And yet, even though he knows you're a son of Poseidon, my enemy, he loves you. Things better stay that way, Perseus Jackson, because if you break my sons heart, I will destroy you. Painfully."
I nodded quickly, watching her eyes narrow.
Then she nodded once, and said, "Good luck, Percy Jackson. I have a feeling you're going to need it."
Then she disappeared.
I walked to the Great Hall that morning a bit dazed. When I got there, I immediately walked over to Draco, and said, "Your mom put bandaids on my face."
I saw Ron and Harry stop as they heard us. They both gaped.
Draco was also gaping. After a moment of struggling to speak, he said, "What?"
"She was in my bathroom when you left. She cleaned my scratches. Um. She said it was okay that I kinda insulted her last night. She asked me why olive trees were better than salt water fountains. She said she knew who my father was. She also said that she wouldn't try to kill me, sorta, then told me that she would kill me if I hurt you."
I saw Harry looked very confused as I spoke in Greek. Ron and Draco both had wide-eyes.
Draco blushed red very suddenly. Ron snickered and Draco told him to go to Tartarus. I smiled.
I stopped smiling when Harry whispered in my ear, "We think Moaning Myrtle was the girl killed by the monster years ago."
So today is my mom's birthday. I've been busy all day, whether with playing games with my sister or going to spend time with my mom, but I haven't had any time to write the most recent chapter of my other book. Like I know it's my fault for procrastinating and stuff but still I'll try to get it out today. Either it'll be out today or early tomorrow (I'm getting it finished before I go to sleep no matter what). Also Shane is still here and I kind of hate him. I really hate him. He's starting to creep my out a bit. He touched Emblem's foot and tried to touch mine. He laughs a lot. I don't like him.
I love you all, and I hope you had a good Wednesday, and I'll see you on Friday.
