I woke Sunday morning to find myself mostly healed. After feeding me some breakfast with lots of ambrosia and nectar, and bending Harry's fingers, she let us leave. I don't think she would have let us go so early if it hadn't been for Colin a few beds down. I couldn't see him because of the curtains surrounding his bed.
We split ways in the hallway, Harry going to find Ron and Hermione while I went to go find Draco.
I checked his room, the library, the Great Hall, outside, the bathrooms, and that secret closet but I couldn't find him anywhere. I had decided to just head back to my room and take a nap.
I found Draco on my bed. He was flipping through a drawing book of mine, a thick letter sitting beside him. He had looked bored until he noticed me.
"Percy!" He shouted, flinging himself at me.
"Draco!" I smiled, accepting his hug. We stood there for a moment, his head buried in my hair and my face tucked into his chest.
"I came to visit you, but you were sleeping and Harry kept glaring at me. Are you alright? Should you even be out of bed?" Draco asked, pulling away from the hug but still holding me at shoulders length.
"I'm fine, a bit sore. A lot sore. Madam Pomfrey gave me a ton of healing potions, and some godly food. She said to come back immediately if there was any serious pain, and to take it easy for a bit. I suspect I would still be in bed if it weren't for Colin," I said, sitting on the bed.
Draco sat beside me, "They told us about Colin this morning. Said he was petrified. That's got to be terrible. I'm worried, Percy. You're a Muggleborn. What if you get petrified, too? What if it's worse?"
I leaned against him, "I know I get hurt a lot, but that doesn't mean I'm completely incapable. I've been training some. I've gotten better with a sword. I can't use swords on the other kids here, and a big group of people will always get you somewhere. But I've got some powers. I've got a sword. And I've got friends at my back. I'll be okay."
Draco nodded, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. We sat there for a minute, before he suddenly jolted and shouted, "I forgot!"
"Forgot what?" I asked as Draco leaned over behind me.
"Luke sent you this. Told me to give it to you when I next saw you," Draco handed me a letter.
"What's in it?" I asked.
"I'm not sure. Read it."
I nodded, and tore the letter open. I saw Luke's messy handwriting staring up at me, and I smiled at the Greek.
Dear Percy
I told you no big adventures, didn't I? I think the Chamber of Secrets opening, a petrified cat, and a rogue Bludger count as adventures.
I'm a little worried. I don't want to get an IM from Headmaster Dumbledore telling me that you've gotten yourself killed. Or worse, expelled.
I'm not sure when you're going to see this, but from what I've heard you've been hurt pretty bad. I would come to visit, but that leads into the thing I'm going to explain when I'm done telling you to have no big adventures.
Have. No. Big. Adventures.
So now the thing. I got a girlfriend. Her name is Hope. I met her at Hogwarts, and she's a few years older than me. I've been dating her for awhile. I'm sure you noticed me smiling at my phone even though it could kill me, or that I sometimes came home smelling like flowery perfume.
I want to introduce you to her and her family during Christmas break. She, like me, has taken in her siblings. She's older than them, and struggles a bit to keep them afloat, but they're all good kids.
