The Mask

CHAPTER 3

On his first day of school, he walked down the stairs feeling excited to learn more and make friends. He searched for the bulletin board for the list of sections. He was feeling uneasy because he is afraid of the results. Trevor searched for his name carefully and his eyes widened in surprise because he saw his name written in the first section. He walked towards his respective classroom with a smile plastered on his face. He opened the door and Trevor searched for an available seat but before he could sit down, the teacher suddenly arrived.

"Good morning class!" she greeted her students with a smile.

A middle-aged woman entered the room with her mid-length gray hair that complements her heart-shaped face. She is wearing white long sleeves partnered with a brown skirt just below her knees.

"Before we start, I would like to call the transferee in front."

Trevor got up and walked shyly in front.

"Kindly introduce yourself, young man." Said the teacher.

"H-hi everyone my name is Trevor Tomlinson, I hope that we can be friends"

"Okay Trevor thank you, you can now take your seat."

Trevor hurriedly walked to his respective seat and fixed his glasses.

"Pssst. Pssssssst. Hey!" a boy whispered to his right ear.

Trevor looked at him with a confused expression on his face. He mouthed "What?"

He heard a group of girls laughing at the back. Trevor looked at them and he was wondering why the girls are laughing at him.

Trevor felt insulted.

The bell rang and the students immediately went to the cafeteria with their circle of friends. He ordered his favorite meal and searched for a place to seat.

He saw a boy sitting by himself, he went to him and said:

"Do you mind if I sit with you?"

The boy's head wandered for a bit. "Umm....Sorry, It's taken" the boy began to sweat as Christopher glared at him, he knew that meaning too well.

Trevor's head lowered and he answered, "o-oh! O-okay then"

He looked for a spot again but he failed, so he sat down on the corner and began to eat silently. His eyes widened when a pile of trash was spilled on his food, he looked up and saw Christopher smirking at him

"Oops, sorry my hands slipped"

He nodded and he threw his food away.

Trevor was surprised to see his friends in elementary, he thought that he wouldn't have any problem with them because they're his friends.

But time had passed, his elementary friends became envious because Trevor is always on the top, they were not given a chance to be at the top of the grading. His friends started to bully him and Christopher Anderson was the leader, and its members are Anthony Coleman, Jefferson Thompson, and the 2 girls: Cassandra Remington and Penelope Clarkson.

One day, Christopher went to Trevor asking for his homework,

"Hey there Trevor, could you do me a favor?" He asked,

"What is it?" Trevor asked,

"Can I copy your homework?" Christopher replied,

"I refuse, you should always do your homework or else you learn." He replied,

"But... were friends right?"

"Yes, but I won't give my homework to you just because we're friends."

Trevor walked away to Christopher and didn't say a thing; it made Christopher mad and jealous. He then planned to bully him; he went to his friends and started planning. The next morning, Christopher started the act; they went to the door and patiently waited for Trevor. Later when he arrived, Christopher pushed him and Anthony and the others threw his bag full of books,

"What do you want from me?" Trevor asked,

The bullies ignored him, laughed and went back to their seats; Trevor too went back to his seat. As days passed the bullies continued bullying him, day by day Trevor didn't have any peaceful day. Almost every day Trevor cried inside his bedroom, without saying anything to his parents, Trevor kept it a secret because he knew that he should stand up for his own. One night, the bullies invited him to the falls called the "Diamond Falls". Trevor went to his parents,

"Mom, Dad I need to ask you something," Trevor said,

"Yes?" Christina replied,

"My friends invited me to the Diamond Falls to have fun but..."

"What is it? If you're asking if we will agree, we will, you should go out sometime and have a break from studying." Alexander replied,

"Oh... ok, thanks!" Trevor replied

"Be careful!" Christina said.

Trevor's parents knew something is wrong with him, Christina and Alexander both went to his bedroom.

"Trevor? Is everything alright?" His mother asked,

"We noticed something is wrong." His father asked,

"Oh, that? It's nothing, I'm fine." Trevor replied,

Alexander and Christina looked at each other and left without saying a word after Trevor heard the door shut, he suddenly felt sad and cried. The next morning, his parents left early with food on the table. Trevor left and went straight to the falls, few hours they had fun but that is what Trevor thought. When it went late the bullies invite Trevor to go near the edge of the falls,

"What will we do there?" Trevor asked,

"We will admire the view and do some things," Anthony answered,

"What things?" He asked,

"You'll see it when your there."

Trevor nodded. After a few minutes of walking, they had reached the location.

"Wow, this is amazing!" Trevor said,

When he faced them, Christopher suddenly pushed him. Trevor fell but he held on a branch,

"Please help!" He yelled,

The others just laughed and went back. Trevor fell into the ground, thinking he was dead, But everything went black.

Trevor woke up with blood on his head.
