The Mask

CHAPTER 14

In one of her flashbacks, the place looked like a forest, with tall trees, dark woods and it was night time. The forest is dark, scary, and it even had wild animals in it like lions, tigers, jaguars, etc. The forest also had a very intimidating aura. The full moon was the only thing that is providing light in the dark forest.

She started walking, then she saw a woman holding a torch. The woman looked tall, slim, and she had long brown locks. She followed her until they stopped running, she hid behind a tree so that she can eavesdrop on the woman. She was shocked when she saw her pointing a large knife towards a man. The man looked old, he had a long beard and he looked like he just escaped from prison.

"Why did you hurt my mother?!" the woman shouted at the man.

"I told you it was just an accident!" the man answered back.

"Still I won't forgive you", She said in a terrifying voice. Then she stabbed the man in the chest causing the man to bleed to death. The woman left the man through the forest as if nothing happened. Jennifer took a closer look to remember her face. Jennifer was shocked and could not believe to find out that the figure of the woman was her. After the terrifying scene, the woman had vanished through the forest.

"No! Stop it! Pls!", she shouted.

"Why did I do such a gruesome and horrible thing?!", she said while sobbing loudly then she felt very dizzy as she laid down on a tall tree near the falls and finally she became unconscious.

When she regained her consciousness, she immediately ran to her parents while crying. "Mom, Dad did I kill someone on that falls?" she said while pointing at the diamond falls. Her parents looked at each other. There are a few seconds of silence until her father answered her question.

"Of course not", Trevor replied. Jennifer slowly calmed down because of what her father said. "That's good to hear", she replied.

In one of her many flashbacks, she was surrounded by many people wearing black clothes. She inspected more of her vicinity, she noticed that they were under a white tent with many flowers, a coffin, and the green grass. She heard people mourning for someone's death. She walked closer to the coffin. She was shocked because she saw her parents crying, mourning, hugging the coffin as if it was the last time they could see it. She then proceeded to walk closer to the coffin and then her jaw dropped because she saw that it was herself inside the coffin that was being buried, in short, she was dead.

"Why am I being buried?!, I'm not dead, did someone killed me?!", she asked herself. She couldn't believe what was happening as many thoughts running through her mind.

"No, my poor daughter! why did you have to leave us??!", Anna said crying her heart out.

"Don't worry Anna she is in a better place now, where no one can harm her," Trevor said while silently crying and hugging his wife Anna.

"No! Mom, Dad I would never leave you!!" She said while tears streaming down her face but her parents did not hear her.

She went to her parents to hug them but before she could do it, Jennifer woke up from her flashback. She ran to her parents and told them about what happened and what she saw in her flashback.

"Mom, Dad I saw you guys crying because I died, I was in the coffin while they rolled it down the grave," She said in a notorious way.

The parents just looked at each other and looked back at Jennifer.

"Oh, we still haven't told you??" her parents replied at the same time. Jennifer did not know what to answer back, because she is confused at the question.
