After the burial, Anna and I went straight to the field near the cave where we are staying. We talked about a lot of things that share common interests. I knew a lot of things about her. We had a lot of similarities and I also knew stuff that she doesn't like.
It's already midnight when she asked me to go head back home.
"We should go it's already past midnight," said Anna. Trevor answered by nodding.
The next day...
Upon waking, Trevor burrowed himself into the warm, soft sheets. He rubbed the remainders of sleep from his eyes and gazed out at the horizon; its vivid light extended across a rosy sky. He supposed this was something the majority of people would consider beautiful, but he found it strange, hard even, to find something so meaningful in something he usually sees every day. I got up and my eyes automatically looked for Anna. I saw her sitting in the grass. I came up to her and said,
"Hey, Good morning Anna how was your sleep?" with a smile in her face she said "Good". I held her hand and got up. We didn't even notice where we are going. We just walked and walked. I found myself near a pond.
"Look, Trevor! a duck!" She giggled. I instantly looked on the pond where she pointed.
On the surface of the pond, there is a duck, white with the most orange bill you ever saw, dipping his head in the water and shaking it. We admired the beautiful view, the cold wind hitting our faces.
I found myself sitting on the ground as we watch the sunset at the horizon, spreading its largest into a grateful sky. Rich hues of red blended with oranges, purples, crimsons.
"Anna, can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?" she asked curiously.
"There is something that I need to confess," I said without looking at her eyes.
"Are you blushing?"
"No, I'm not." They both laughed.
"I like the way how you smile. Anna I-I really I like you. That's why I reach toward your face and touch them lightly before the urge to kiss you takes over.
