MOON BYULYI
"I really hate having to write raps this early in the morning." The raven-haired beauty, Moonbyul, muttered under her breath. She looked at the clock and it says 5:00 am. She forced out a deep sigh once again. I really don't like having to write raps this early in the morning during a weekend. Today is a Saturday, and it was supposed to be a rest day for all trainees but Moonbyul was sitting in front of her desk training on her own because she didn't like the feeling of doing nothing while waiting for her morning meeting.
It's been a while since her position was changed in the group but it definitely felt longer for her. Maybe it was because she detested the change at first or maybe because she disliked herself for not doing well enough as a vocal. She sighed as she looked at the rap she wrote and saw that it ended up having more lines than she had thought she would finish. I said I didn't like writing raps but it does seem like I enjoy it a bit.
And this kind of thinking kinda makes Moonbyul angry at herself. You're enjoying this? You trained for years to debut as a vocal and now you're enjoying this? She can't help but have polarizing thoughts about the change. She threw the pen away and slumped back in her chair.
Ever since she decided to become an idol, Moonbyul did everything she can to debut as one. She wanted to perform in front of large crowds with fans cheering for her. She joined many auditions and lucky for her, a company noticed her talents and signed her up as a trainee. She originally trained as a vocal, and trained as a dancer on the sides. The vocal instructors were so amazed by her singing and lyric writing that she was known to be one of the top trainees in the company. Other people said that it won't be too long for Byul to debut. This made her train even harder and that was when the head of the company noticed her.
Byul closed her eyes hard. I also hate having to think about this again. But the memory of that day just flooded her mind once more as if her everyday struggles wasn't enough of a nightmare.
"Moonbyul. I have noticed how hard you worked these past years and I would like to confirm that the rumors surrounding your debut is not false." The company CEO, Lim Won Hee, said.
Moonbyul smiled modestly but she is proud of bringing herself up to this point. "Thank you, Mr. Lim. I will take this as a huge compliment and honor, and train very well." She bowed as a gesture of gratitude towards the man.
"However, the concept I had in mind is... quite different from other girl groups that are already out in the market." he continued.
This made Byul confused. "How will the group be different from other ggs?" she asked.
"Well first of all, instead of having a bashful, innocent concept, I'd like to debut a girl group that is powerful, different, and performance focused." He answered.
"It is a nice approach Mr. Lim, but will we be able to pull it off?" she nervously asked. A concept that is not common doesn't sit well with the trend that has already started in the industry. In her mind she pictures Girls' Generation, the icon of girl groups. When they had their debut, they were fresh, and innocent, but also powerful. 2NE1, on the other hand, has a very hiphop, and girl crush feeling. The 2 groups had such polarizing concepts that both gained positive feedbacks from the general public.
"That is why I had to talk to you first before the other girls." he started, pulling Byul out of her own train of thoughts. "For us to debut that kind of concept... I need a wholesome group. One with powerful vocals and a rapper." He looked at her intently. She nodded, already having the picture of the group in mind. Then she met the CEO's eyes and saw that he was waiting for her response.
