MOON BYULYI
"Well, since you're not going to be packing... Why don't we pick a bed today?" Yong Sun proposed to Byul.
"That's fine by me but don't you have to pack?" Byul asked.
Yong Sun shook her head. "I've already started packing last week when I got the news that we were going to live together. Only a few essential items are left for me to pack."
"Well then I don't see any reason for me to decline." Byul agreed.
They looked for a furniture store online and through Google Maps and saw that there was one that was a 10-minute walk from where they are.
"Do you prefer a bunk bed?" Yong Sun asked the other girl. She glanced at the girl that was walking by her side and saw that she was tying her hair up in one ponytail.
"Nope. Bunk beds make me dizzy even if I'm at the bottom bed." She shivered at the thought. "I don't like the feeling when I can feel someone is moving."
This made Yong Sun laugh a little. "So, you'd like it if we shared a queen-sized bed?" Byul looked at her with a 'you gotta be kidding me, right?' expression plastered on her face. "Why? What's wrong with sharing a bed?"
"I'm gay, Yong Sun." she confessed. "It won't be a good idea for us to share a bed. I suggest we just get 2 single beds."
"But you know the room can only fit a double-sized bunk bed or a queen-sized bed if we plan on putting desks inside as well." Yong Sun protested. "I don't like cramped-up spaces."
Byul bit her lip in frustration. She too didn't like cramped up spaces as it made her slightly anxious, but what could she do? She didn't like the situation one bit. She needed a desk so she could seriously work on lyric writing as well as composing songs on the side. But she also didn't know if it was worth risking anything.
She ducked her head to one side. What would I be risking and for what? She thought to herself. She looked at the older girl beside her. She hadn't noticed that they had stopped in front of a bakery because of their small argument and as she looked at the breads displayed by the window it kind of triggered her appetite.
Yong Sun must have heard the rumble of Byul's stomach as she looked at girl in surprise and concern.
"I'm not hungry. It's just that the breads looked kind of appetizing." Byul knew that that was nowhere near an excuse. When they had lunch earlier, she only ate a salad and since then, she had not eaten anything. Even when the girls were food tripping as they went their way to the real estate office, Byul declined any of the food they offered. She needed to cut down on junk food as her weight is something that is pretty hard to maintain even though she danced. Having to remain sitting most of her resting time for writing lyrics and raps, it wasn't a surprise that Byul easily gained weight when she doesn't watch what she eats.
"You haven't eaten anything since 11:30, Byul." Yong Sun looked at her wristwatch. "it's already 4 pm. I'm sure that salad you ate earlier is thoroughly digested by now. Come on." She took Byul's wrist. "It's time to eat, but we won't be eating bread. I think I saw a Korean restaurant by that block. Let's go eat bibimbap there."
Bibimbap sounds delicious. But at the back of Byul's mind, she knew that she can't afford to eat rice at this time of day. It was almost night time and for sure, she would only lie down when she goes home.
"I don't think that's a good idea, unnie. I don't work out when I go home and eating rice—"
"It's just 5 minutes past 4 pm, Byul." Yong Sun cut her off. "We'd still be walking as we look for beds. I'm sure by the time you get home the bibimbap is already digested." The older girl added an icy glare to silence any protest Byul may have inside.
