A/N: Suicidal warning

1 9 8 6It was a warm summer day in Virginia. Amanda Carter had been rushed to the hospital by her husband Harrison after her water broke at their summer manor. Most of the year, they would spend in Bon Air, but during the summer, they would host lavish parties at their manor. Amanda's favorite chair had been soiled by her water breaking, but Harrison told her not to worry and rushed her into the car, heading for Richmond. Once she was admitted, she remained in a cycle of contractions for about thirteen hours. Amanda hoped that wasn't bad luck.
She was already exhausted. Amanda's face was drained of color and her skin was sticky with sweat. As her contractions became closer together and stronger, Harrison held on to her tightly, pushing back her blonde locks and kissing her temple. Pained screams filled the hospital room as Amanda began to push. The baby started to crown and within a minute the baby was fully out of the womb. The baby began wailing like any other would. After the umbilical cord was cut, the baby was handed to Amanda and she graciously took her child into her arms.
Amanda cried tears of joy and relief as she held the beautiful baby in her arms. Harrison hovered over her, speechless as her stared at his new daughter. "Oh Harry...she's so beautiful," she cried, placing a kiss to her little forehead.
"Our little princess," Harrison said, sticking his large finger at her as the baby's tiny ones gripped it. "A strong one," he smiled.
"Sharon..." Amanda said as the baby started to calm her cries.
"It's perfect. The second you proposed that name, I loved it," he said to her, kissing her cheek.
"Sharon Margaret Carter," Amanda said in full with a large smile.

2 0 2 4Amanda sat on the living room couch as the news stations announced the murder of Steve Rogers. She knew that Sharon, John, and Ward had something to do with it. She felt it in her gut and it felt like a serrated knife twisting. All the superpower business brought to Sharon was pain. It was all pain. Because of her choices, Sharon was punished for doing the right thing by being labeled a fugitive and a traitor. She then became a fugitive again, going on the run for months. She was pardoned only to be kidnapped months later and turned into a soulless mass murderer.
Amanda cried for so many hours. Surely, he she didn't have tears left in her, but they just kept flowing. She was in absolute anguish. Harrison was mostly quiet. That's just how he handled his emotions. He didn't want to make others feel worse so when he was alone, he would talk into a mirror and talk about his emotions. After a while, the mirror conversation would end and his emotions would calm, but not this time. This was really eating at him, even worse than when Sharon was dead for five years.
Harrison came out of the bathroom, wiping his red and swollen eyes as he walked into the living room. It was almost time for bed. He grabbed the remote and shut off the TV. "C'mon, honey," he said to his wife.
"Remember when she was just born, and I held her in my arms, and she looked up at us with those big brown eyes and our whole world changed? Remember when she was just a little girl learning karate? Or when she going out with her friends to the mall?" She asked him.
"Yes, I remember all of that, honey," Harrison told her as he sat down next to her.
"Now, she's out there killing...sometimes killing children," Amanda said, shaking her head.
