Episode 3.1: A Dark Mirror

   The king and his sister crouched beside Okoye's body.  Tears dripped down Shuri's face as she held her brother's hand.  He bit the inside of his cheek to refrain from crying as Okoye's body was taken away, holding her as they succumbed to soft sobs.  He assured her, Zemo would pay for his crimes.  "Uya kuhlawula. [He will pay]" T'Challa assured her.

T H E  N E X T  D A Y

After coming home from work and a quick trip to the store, Bucky and Sharon flew home in their flying car. It still rattled Bucky that he was flying one. Once they landed, they walked inside their home and went upstairs to get into some more comfortable clothes. As Bucky got out his black SHIELD training suit, Sharon took her plastic store bag and went into the bathroom. As she took off her brown coat and white catsuit, Bucky talked to her through the door about his day. "You know, I was training these class 2 recruits today and man...I just love 'em. At first, I thought I'd actually not like this job, but the people and their skills and their passion for helping others just drives me. Also helps having an incredibly strong and beautiful Director to talk to," he smirked as she got into her comfortable clothes and pulled a small box out of the bag.

"Well, I'm glad, babe," she said.

She had secretly gotten a pregnancy test. Deeply breathing, she pried open the box and dumped out the tester. Bucky was a bit concerned by her quietness. "You okay in there, Director Carter-Barnes?" He asked, wiggling his brow.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be out in a minute," she told him. 

   "Alright.  I'm gonna go water the lilies," he said as he exited the bedroom. 

"Okay," she said as she stared at the test, gripping it tightly.

She then took the test as instructed and looked at it before laughing. "Who am I kidding?" She asked herself before throwing it in the small trash bin.

She cleaned up and then went outside to join her husband, watering the flowers. Smiling at him as the golden rays from the setting sun hit his back, she walked down to him and pressed a kiss against his cheek. He smiled as she wrapped her arms around his torso, his shirt slightly damp from the faulty hose.  For a little bit, they watered the plants together, turned off the hose and went back inside. 

   Heading back upstairs for some relaxation, Bucky rushed into the bathroom as Sharon laid on top of the made bed.  After he did his business and pulled up his pants, he noticed something in the trash and squinted at it curiously.  He could read the letters on it.  He picked up the sanitary end and read the little screen.  It read, in all caps:

PREGNANT

      His lips parted in shock as the word swirled around in his head.  As he felt sick and tingly and nervous, he heard his phone from the bedroom.  He washed up and entered the bedroom as Sharon searched for his phone.  She couldn't find it, so the ringing stopped.  She then noticed what he was holding and tears at the edge of his eyes.  "James..."

   "You're pregnant?  No, you are!  You are!  Look!" He exclaimed, showing her the test results. 

   "Oh my God...I thought...I-" she stammered.
