Brother's Time for a Lady

I was about to sleep after I give a text message to Courtney, something happened that even my brother or her never told me. I started to ready myself for bed until my phone rings and it's Lewis " hello brother it's been late why still awake?" I asked him " I'm down wake your ass up meet me in the kitchen" he told me. I was shocked and surprised at the same time he never did this before unless something is bothering him. I knew it's not business but it's a woman. A cryptic smile came out through my face I guess I know it now.

I walked down through my hall down my kitchen I saw Lewis looking something into my fridge. Luckily nothing is there but beer and water.
" Hey brother what brought you here?" I told him smiling. When he turn up to my face I saw how tired he was. " My car and my feet "he replied sarcastically. As I sit down in front of him beside my wine bar he said direct to me " Did u knew that Courtney is the daughter of the wealthiest man in Guam that we are doing a merger today? Why you never told me? He continued to asked. I was a bit confused how Courtney is in the merger and how the hell he accused me of something I never know. "What are you talking about? You drunk or you lose the merger and you included the poor lady in this situation!? I replied him back. He removed his jacket and throw it in the table and face me saying " The Courtney we know a simple and working lady is the only daughter and sole heir of Guam's wealthiest businessman my big brother! " he told me with a smirk and a sad smile.
I was in awe, shocked and surprised that no words came out turns out my throat gets dry. How it could be possible? Did Courtney has a secret or a reason to protect? I was right the first time I saw her, asking about her life and she was reluctant to answer. She's different her skin the way she talks how she carry herself with confidence. I noticed it all but I ignored my senses. I get back to whom I was with. I'm back after a minute of silence there's nothing I can do now. I feel I need to be a detective and a bridge again. " What are you smiling at? Are you crazy? Or you playing dumb that you don't know and both of you trying to trick me and makes me feel shit?" He said while interrogating me with bullets of questions that even me have no idea. " No I was just right with my judgement with her the first time I saw her, there's something with a her like mysterious thing that I can't explain, didn't you notice that? The way she talks like she studied in a prestigious school, her skin so soft and the smart ass mouth she had how she is not intimidated by us. I was asking her about her background but she was a little bit uneasy I'm right she's hiding something. Life is u predictable there something's we can't stop not to happen. Inevitable. Fate brings us to her to happened a big combination of big companies to unite two different countries and cultures. Aren't you happy? " I told him back.
He just look at me and replied " do I look like one!?" Answered me in an upset way. " what kind of person you are? You not eating why there's no even one food here? He asked my back. " I have a lot of beers, wine brandy and hard what u want? I told him right away. I know him very well he needs an answer to makes him calm. " I want food pizza, chicken wings and a pasta. He answered me. " ok I will order I replied back.

I got my ass up went to my room leave him in the sala sitting in my sofa while I dial Papa Johns pizza .
