Chapter 3 ♡: The Spring Break Trip

"Okay, that's it for today. Make sure you all read chapters 5 and 6 for homework before next class." Professor Gildarts shouted as the class began packing up to leave class.

Lucy stood up, swinging her bag over her shoulder. It was Wednesday, and Natsu hadn't at all brought up what happened between them the previous weekend. She couldn't stop thinking about it, though. She constantly felt slightly nervous around him now, and she felt like she couldn't read him at all.

I need to stop. He probably doesn't even like me that much I-

"Lucy?"

Natsu waved his hand in front of her face, snapping her out of deep thought. "You good?"

"Oh! Sorry, yeah I'm fine." The blonde replied letting out a nervous laugh. The two walked outside where their friends were eating lunch. "Hey guys." Lucy greeted, sitting down next to Levy.

"Hey Lu!" Levy exclaimed with a smile. "We were just talking about something before you guys got here. Since spring break is next week...Juvia came up with a great plan."

"Oh right!" Juvia's face lit up. "I was thinking, it would be so much fun for all of us to go camping together! We would leave Monday, and come back to Magnolia on Friday."

"Wow Juvia, that does sound like fun! I'm in." Lucy exclaimed. "I've actually never been camping before."

"And Juvia said she knows the perfect location, it's by a lake." Erza chimed in, throwing her scarlet hair over her shoulder.

"Yes!" The blue haired girl clasped her hands together. "It's near the town I grew up in. About 3 hours from here."

"What's the plan for getting there?" Gray asked.

"I was thinking we could just carpool with whoever. Like us and Mira could go together, Levy, Gajeel, Erza and Jellal could go together, and Natsu and Lucy could go together since they both don't live on campus like the rest of us." Juvia explained.

"Sounds good to me!" Mirajane said excitedly. Everyone else nodded.

Natsu let out a small laugh and turned to Lucy. "Looks like you're stuck with me for a while."

The blonde blushed a little bit and let out a small laugh. "Yeah, I guess." She looked away quickly.

Monday morning

Lucy gathered all her bags together and hauled them outside. Natsu had impatiently been telling her to hurry up for the past 10 minutes.

"Look, I'm ready now." Lucy tiredly handed her bags to the pink haired boy to put in the car.

"It's about time." He laughed.

Lucy rolled her eyes and got in the passenger seat. Natsu followed, getting in the drivers seat after closing the trunk. The blonde looked around the car, noticing it was surprisingly nice and clean, definitely not what she had expected.

"You ready, Luce?" Natsu asked, turning the car on.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Lucy gave a small smile. She started getting a little nervous.

I'm gonna be in the car with him, alone, for several hours, what if things get weird?

The blonde tried to shake those thoughts out of her mind. She grabbed the aux cord and put music on so there wouldn't be such an awkward silence.

"You okay, Lucy? You've been quiet." Natsu asked after being on the road for about 30 minutes. The whole time, Lucy had just been staring out the window.

The blonde shook her head. "Yeah sorry. I think I'm just tired since I couldn't really fall asleep last night."

"Ahh okay. Were you too excited?"

"Yeah I guess, this is my first camping experience ever so I don't really know what to expect."

"Awe you'll be fine, Luce. You'll be with me the whole time. We are sharing a tent after all." Natsu said, smiling.

"W-we're what?!" Lucy exclaimed. "N-nobody told me about this...?"

"Well everyone else already claimed their tent partners so that just leaves you and me. Why, are you nervous?" Natsu said with a smirk.

Lucy's face turned beet red. "N-no! Of course not!" She crossed her arms.

This would happen to me, wouldn't it?
