The dates are a reference of when my information is coming from in the event that anything about the Coronavirus changes drastically.

Here we have an interruption in your regularly "scheduled" program. Because I definitely follow a schedule here...

You're in for a long ride, so strap in.

Yes, I cite my sources.

No, I am NOT a medical professional. Please take everything written here with a grain of salt.

So everyone is freaking out about the Coronavirus, and I'm over here like, "Calm DOWN."

The media is no help with this, whatsoever.

Everyone's freaking out about this more than they were when Ebola first popped up. Not to mention, the plague that wiped out 1/3 of the population in the past popped up recently and no one cared about that.

Yet somehow, when this new virus that is significantly less deadly than Ebola with a much longer window of treating it shows up, it's a reason to shut down half of the world and throw most of its people into a panic.

As far as I know, there are certain things that can be done to treat the symptoms of Coronavirus. The symptoms of Coronavirus are a runny nose (March 19, runny nose and sore throat have been removed as a symptoms. Tiredness has been added as a symptom), sore throat, cough, fever, and difficulty breathing. If you have any of these symptoms, please contact a doctor. This is a respiratory infection, so if it's not dealt with properly, it can result in permanent damage to your lungs or even death (who.int after searching "coronavirus symptoms").

The first thing I want to say about this is that Coronavirus is deadly to those with weak, weakened, or compromised immune systems (that includes people on immunosuppressants). By saying this, I am not trying to downplay the severity of this virus. I just want people with normally functioning immune systems to stop acting like the world is ending. It's not.

Another thing: masks are not going to keep you from contracting the virus. The only way masks will stop the spread of the virus is if the people who are sick wear them. If a perfectly healthy person wearing a mask gets coughed on by a sick person not wearing a mask, that person would still be in danger of being sick. Masks don't give a person immunity.

I honestly find this whole thing to extremely annoying. I swear. Every day for the last month of my life has been drizzled in a nice, thick coating of Coronavirus. I wish people would just shut up about it, even if it was for just one day.

On a completely unrelated note, today (Monday, March 16, 2020) I heard my second ever K-Pop song on the radio while I was at the store. It was Blood, Sweat, and Tears by BTS.

People are either waaaaayyy too panicked about this, or they don't care enough about it. Neither of those people are doing any help to stop the spread of the virus.

Also, people are going stir-crazy and buying out the toilet paper, minute rice, soup, and ramen, from my experience. The goal is to stay healthy, yet most of the things people are stocking up on are not healthy (I know it's because they have a long shelf life). People don't seem to realize that most things you can buy in the store last for about a week.

I recently learned, maybe a week ago, that people started buying toilet paper as a coping mechanism for the virus, and somehow, that translated into "BUY TOILET PAPER! IT'LL HELP PROTECT YOU FROM CORONAVIRUS!" Toilet paper is not going to save you.
