I know, I know... It's been forever since I updated. But I'm back! And this is the second to last chapter!

However, Carissa (TheJadeWarrior) and I are probably gonna rewrite this whenever we have time!

On another note, I hope all of you are okay and aren't in areas where the Corona Virus is more prominent. Stay safe and wash your hands!

Tori looked around the empty office. Darcy was leaning against the wall, all of her pictures off the wall, and her desk cleared of all her things.

"What do you need me to help with?" Tori asked, expecting for her best friend's to need advice about her decorating.

Darcy gave a small laugh. "Do I need an excuse to talk with my friend?" She teased, and Tori relaxed.

"No, but you seemed really busy recently, so I didn't know if you were busy." Tori stammered. "I didn't want to make you stress."

"No, you're right. I was ignoring you alot, and I'm sorry." Darcy gave an awkward shrug.

"Well, in that case, hug?" Tori held out her arms in a silent offer. Darcy smiled, and gripped Tori in a firm embrace.

"Do you want to come over tonight? Maybe get a drink and talk? I feel like we've never been farther apart." Darcy confesses once they pulled apart. Tori nodded, feeling the strain on their relationship for the past few weeks.

All because of the damn case. Detective Carter Revon needed to learn how to mind his own business.

"I would love to come over tonight!" Tori paused, shifting on her feet. "But... will Ares be there?"

Tori really didn't want the Native American- Caucasion to interrupt their night.

Darcy seemed to pick up on Tori's real reasons, and shook her head. "I can make him go away, don't worry. He owes me right now."

Though Tori wanted to ask what had happened between the two, she also didn't want to know. Best be ignorant for now. It was going to be a very fun night.

And Tori couldn't wait. When she walked out of the diner, Tori couldn't stop smiling, her face split in a grin from ear to ear.

Kace shuffled the deck of cards once again. He didn't play any games, but he liked the feeling of the cards rushing out of his thumbs and slapping on the table with a steady beat.

When he'd discovered the calming actions, Kace had made it a priority to learn as many shuffles as possible.

He found long ago that the edged of the cards against the whorls of his thumbprints, and the sound of the cards being shuffled calmed him down. He did a simple overhand shuffle, and riffle shuffled again.

Arching the deck into a bridge, he thought about what he knew about the killer.

Crime of passion, and that ruled out Ares, who had never dated Darcy. It also ruled out Mariella, who wasn't exactly known for her passion, other than her work. Tori was basically third wheeling for Darcy, and had no motive that Kace could understand.

Kace knew that he didn't kill Ethel, because, well it was him. And Kyana...she didn't exactly have any motive to kill her, and even if she did, she wouldn't have killed her for Darcy.

Kace bridged the deck again. They only reason his twin would have killed the other girl was if Ethel had hurt Kyana, and it didn't seem like that was the case.
