"Alright, now with this triangle since X is on the outside you will do sin of 26 degrees times 140 to get..." Says Mr. Anderson. I zone out on the board for a moment.

"Hey." I hear someone whisper. "Hey." I hear them whisper again.

"Hmm." I say still not looking away from the board.

"Do you know the answer to number 8?"

"What?" I ask looking over to see Jason leaning over in his seat.

"The answer to number 8. Do you know what it is?" He asks again.

"Umm..yeah." I say flipping through the pages. "It's 47.26 but you'll just put 47.3 because they want it rounded to the nearest tenth." I say pointing at my answer to show him.

"It seems like you really know what you're doing Ms. Jackson." I hear Mr. Anderson say.

"That I do, this stuff really isn't hard for me." I say shrugging my shoulders.

"That's true but is it hard to hold your conversation until I'm done explaining to the rest of the class how to do it." He says now looking at me.

"Mhmm." I say rolling my eyes and looking back down at the packet, the teacher continues showing the rest of the class sin, cos, and tan, and SOH-CAH-TOA. I learned this last year but they still put me in his stupid class.

"Would you mind helping me with this after school." Jason asks.

"Careful he might jump your ass next for talking." I say laughing

"You're not wrong." He says back laughing.

"Yeah, but I'll help you, do you wanna meet up at your place?"

"For sure, do you want to meet me in the parking lot after school?"

"Sure thing." I say smiling.

*Bell rings* Everyone jumps from their seats and starts to exit*

"Ms. Jackson, come see me for a moment." Says Mr. Anderson. I roll my eyes as I finish packing my things and start to walk over to his desk.

"Yes." I say politely.

"These past few days you've seemed distracted, I don't know if it's the people you sit around, or if something is bothering you but I need it to stop. This is your warning, next time I'm going to have to give you a write up." He says gesturing towards the small pile of slips on his desk.

"It won't happen again, and if you don't mind I really need to get to lunch to see my brother. Have a nice day." I say walking towards the door.

"You have a nice day too." He says waving good bye. I walk out the door and slowly walk down the hallway looking at the things on the walls. I start to lose myself in thought, not realizing that someone walked up beside me. I quickly turn with a balled up fist ready to hit them.

"Woah, hey, it's me, don't shoot." I hear Seth say.

"You scared me, you can't just sneak up on me like that." I say taking in a deep breath.

"I know, I'm sorry." He says lowering his head.

"I'll forgive you this time but next time I'm not gonna go so easy." I say nudging him. He smiles and nudges me back.

"Are you doing anything after school today?" He asks.

"Yeah, I'm gonna help Jason with our math packet and then probably nothing after that. Why what's up?" I ask.

"Well I was gonna see if you wanted to study together or something, but if you and Jason already are then I can do it myself." He says

"No it's okay, I can tell him I need to leave around 4 if you want to pick me up from his house." I say smiling at him.
