the day of part 2

*Octavia

We were in the car when the earth started shaking. We could see explosions off in the distance.

"What the hell is going on?" I ask nobody in particular. The ground starts to crack beneath Lincolns car.

"Go go! Lincoln go!" He starts speeding off but the cracks are catching up. We see the earth start to split.

"Octavia out!" Lincoln yells stopping the car. We both open the doors when the car starts to fall. I jump as hard as I can landing on my side. I scramble away from the edge.

I turn to see Lincoln climbing the rest of the way up, he must've slipped. Once hes up and standing he stares at me panicked.

This is the first time I realize how big the crack actually is. The length isn't that long but the width. It's as if there should be a building between us.

I start running until I find a short enough distance to jump. I take a few steps back and start sprinting forward "Octavia dont!!!" I hear lincoln scream as I jump crossing the distance between us. When i reach the other side my legs give out and i stumble to the ground. I instantly feel Lincoln at my side.

"What a rush!" I say excited even after everything that happend. Lincoln leans down to kiss me laughing.

"My crazy girl.." he says pulling away. We both stand looking at the hole in the ground. Were miles away from town, we were driving to the lake for an afternoon swim for our date.

"Shit. It's going to take forever to walk back." I say out loud once again not directing it at anyone. I raise my arms soaking in the sun and breathing in the fresh air.

"We better start walking if we want to be back by dark." Lincoln says. After the ground split everything stopped shaking. We figured it was just a earthquake. We couldn't have known how wrong we were.

*Abby

I was in an elevator when the earthquake hit. I was in here with the hospitals main funder Marcus Kane.

We could feel the one of the cables holding us up snap. The elevator swung to the side knocking us into each other. Kane grabs my arms to steady me.

"We have to climb out abby." Kane states not looking at me. He locks his hands together bending over.

"Common I'll boost you up." He says nodding his towards his hands. I put my foot on his hands jumping up. He grunts a little but holds me up with steady hands.

I push one of the panels up and climb out. When I'm out the elevator swings again, I steady myself on the ladder on the side of the shaft. I put my torso through the bars and lean down grabbing hold of kanes hands.

"You have to get out now the last cable is going to snap!" I yell at kane. I'm struggling to pull him up when the cable snaps.

As the elevator car falls I hold tight to Kanes wrists. The cable swings in all directions it hits kanes arm, burning through his flesh. "Ahhh!" Kane screams pulling himself to the ladder with his legs.

"As soon as were out I'll stitch you up!" I yell struggling to get out of the bars.

We climb in silence, well mostly silence kane kept grunting and cursing under his breath.

We didnt have to climb for long before coming to the next set of doors.

I hooked my legs tight around the bars and started to peel the doors open. I climb into the dimly lit hallway. It was in ruins. Thankfully this was the surgery wing.

We walk into the closest room. I wash my hands and put gloves on. Kane was sitting on the operating table.

If I didnt clean the wound fast he could get an infection and lose his arm. I grab some sanitizing alchohol and 2 cloths. I set them down beside kane, I start rolling one of the cloths up.

"What's that for?" Kane asks quietly. "I dont want to put you under anesthesia just in case another wave hits. And a I cant find any fast acting pain killers, so your going to bite this while I stitch up your arm." I say holding the rolled cloth up.

"Unless you want to lose your arm that is." I finish with a small laugh. "Just do it doctor." He says with a grunt. I give him the cloth and he grips it between his teeth.

Stitching him up reminded me of clarke. Oh god is she ok. When I finish, I wrap his arm in a makes it bandage ripped from his shirt.

*Clarke

When I wake up I'm lying with my head on Harpers lap. I hear shouting. "Harper...?" I ask quietly opening my eyes. The arguing stops and Harper starts petting my head. Shes crying. "What's wrong?" I ask lifting my hand to touch her face.

"Shh clarke.. there was an earthquake.. were trapped.. bellamy and murphy are trying to find a way out." She says sniffling. Monty appears at my side.

"Oh clarke!" Monty exclaims brushing my hair back with his hand. "Guys shes awake!" I hear Emori say.

Footsteps fall heavily, they stop as Bellamy and Murphy crouch beside me smiling.

"Hey princess.." Bellamy says reaching to put his hand on my cheek. I sit up instantly, nausea rushing in. I almost puke on his face.

"Dont touch me." I say smacking his hand away. I hear murphy chuckle. Only to be smacked by Emori.

"You said there was an earthquake?" I ask Harper standing up. "Yeah were stuck in the principles office. You should sit down clarke. You fainted!" Harper says standing beside me.

Suddenly I was running to the corner and throwing up my guts. Bellamy appeared at my side. I pushed passed him studying the room.
