A few weeks after the incident at the museum Valkyrie and her team went back to Hereford, once they reached the base they were greeted by Six alongside Kaid "Welcome back team I hope the mission went well." said Six in some hope to lighten the mood but none of them responded with words instead Twitch gave a simple head nod and walked past them followed by IQ but Valkyrie didn't follow them instead she asked, " Was that thing real?" with a sigh Six replied, " Yes and kaid here will tell you what it is." Valkyrie looked towards Kaid and he spoke " I'll try to keep this a simple as I can what you saw was a piece of the void in human form." when Kaid said this Valkyrie mind came up with a million or so questions that Kaid couldn't answer out of pure time so Valkyrie nodded and Kaid continued " Legends are spread far and wide about what he is and why he's here but the most common one is he was once a priest whose name is long forgotten." Valkyrie nodded her head again but then Six said "Alright Kaid I think that's enough, for now, Valkyrie why don't you go get some rest." without hesitation, Valkyrie walked past six into the base and went to her dorm where she found Blackbeard snoozing on the couch slowly creeping up on him soon and the idea of amusement crossed her mind and began to walk towards the refrigerator but found a sticky note with the words "one step ahead of you" written on it suddenly she heard a voice call out and when she turned to look some water was splashed on her by her college who laughed "Oldest joke in the book." Valkyrie wasn't so amused by this but laughed it off any way's said "Alright you got me did anything happen while I was away?" with smirk Blackbeard replied, " Bandit was caught trying to sell sniff able crayons to the recruits which turned out to be a bunch of weed and crack flavored crayons." Shaking her head Valkyrie smiled before looking over to her bed where a package awaited for her when Blackbeard looked at it he said: "That came in the mail not too long ago." but when asked who sent it Blackbeard shrugged before head back to the couch, after a few seconds of starring Valkyrie brought out her knife and opened the box to reveal a large, heavily burnt book with bizarre craving on it after a few minutes of examining this book Valkyrie brought it out and opened to find a large index of books all about religion, human history, and ancient weapons alongside a page all about a battle between a hellhound and some shark man named: "Aleksei Akula" but it was nothing noteworthy. Some time passed and Valkyrie came upon a page with the story "The sliver of the night that walked" intrigued Valkyrie started to read this story but stopped when Blackbeard tapped her shoulder and pointed at the clock and suggested me to get some chow.
