Hikari's POV

"Ah..." I sigh, lying my head low as I rest beneath a tree, looking at Giyuu having fun talking to Sabito.

'That dummy. Always giving his carefree smile to others. He treats everyone the same.' I let out a 'hmph' as I walk towards them unwillingly, not realizing my legs were moving on their own until I reach them.

They stopped talking, and looked towards me, which I was frozen for a moment then shook upwards, they were staring at me!

I realize that and regret not having control over my legs, jeez, they move on their own when I see this dumb oblivious guy.

"Hi Hikari! You're shining as bright as the sun today!" Giyuu compliments me, and I blush, using my pointer finger, I aim at him and put on my angry face.

"Did you just say my face is oily!?" I shout at him angrily. His smiling face goes to a dumbfounded one, as he shook his head and motioned with his hands saying to calm down.

"No, it's just that... you're really bright and cheery today." He smiles, and I honestly thought I could be blinded by him.

"Sh-shut up! I don't want to hear from you!" I say, looking away trying to hide more of my blush. This guy's smile was killing me.

"Sorry." He apologizes as he bows, a perfect seventy-five degrees. Now it was my turn to look at him dumbfounded. He never bowed that low to me unlike before, it used to be around forty-five degrees, but now it's lower. What happened?

"Hey, hey." Sabito puts his large hand on the frail of my back.

"What?" I glare at him, and he looks at me unfazed.

"Stop treating Giyuu so harshly. Look, he's bowing even lower now." He says, patting my back.

I cough, and face Giyuu.

"Tomioka-san." I say, looking away. My face is red, and my heartbeat is at a normal rate.

"Yes?" He stood up straight, and stared down at me.

"Sorry. I've been rude to you."

He looked at me with an unreadable expression. Was he shocked? Dumbfounded? Dazzled?

I look at him, sweat dripping down my forehead as I stare at him longer for what seemed to be going for three minutes until he finally dropped his expression and smiled.

"Wow Hikari! You don't need to apologize. I know why you're like this." His smile shined at me.

'Wait, he knows? He knows I-'

"It's because you're too flustered to act nice, is it correct? If it's hard for you, I'll teach you to become nice like how Tanjiro is teaching Inosuke to not shout and try to fight everyone!"

Uh...

That works.

I felt relief flush over me as I let out a sigh. Giyuu was patiently waiting for my response as I smile at him and say yes.

I could've sworn I saw a hint of red on his cheeks for a moment.

He smiles back, and says his goodbyes to Sabito as he motions me to follow him.

We end up at Shinobu's Mansion, and I felt a pang of jealousy when I see Giyuu and Shinobu chatting happily as if I didn't exist in front of them."

"Hey, Tomioka-san." She smiles. "I see you've gotten closer to Hikari." She teases as I felt an arrow hit me. Shinobu isn't trying to steal Giyuu away from me!

"Ah," He laughs. "Actually, I was just gonna teach her how to be openly nice because she gets flushed when she does."

"Oh? But she's nice to me." Shinobu tilts her head, and Giyuu looked at me to confirm if it's true.

"U-um..! It's because we're close, right, Shinobu?" I stare at her hoping for her to get a positive response, and she sees what I'm doing and nods. She stares back at Giyuu doing her usual smile and say. "Yeah. It's because me and Hikari are close. You guys should be closer too! Try talking to her a lot and giving her gifts."

"H-huh? Are we not close enough, Hikari?" He looks at me sadly, doing his puppy eyes as I stare at him, feeling a bit bad.

"No we aren't, dumbass!" I lie, we're literally best friends, even closer than I am with Shinobu, but if I want to tell him the truth, it's definitely not in front of her.

"I hope we get closer! I like you a lot, Hikari."

My entire body heats up, as I try to process what he said. He even said that in front of Shinobu! Who's very shocked right now, too.

He didn't mean it that way, did he?

"Oh my. I'll leave you two, I have something to take care of inside. Toodles!" Shinobu waved goodbye as she goes back inside, and I'm left alone with Giyuu.

I start shaking violently due to being flustered so much by the affection and the words Giyuu said.

"Y-y-y-you like m-me!?" I stutter, as he nods slowly, confused to why I'm reacting this way.

"Yeah!" He smiles.

"I like you, because you're my light. Through the darkness, you always shine upon me." He continued, and I start blushing like a madman.

Jeez! If he could stop being so straight-forward, maybe I won't have a fever or something!

"Oh." I realize he's feeling my forehead. "You're not sick, are you?" I back away quickly, as I shake my head off.

"N-no! You're just imagining things! I l-l-like you too, dummy!" I look away, the steam coming off my head is starting to cool down.

Giyuu laughs. "Hopefully you didn't think I meant 'as a friend' way, did you?"

My eyes widen. "W-What!?"

"I would've stated it."

"Then, you really do like me!?"

"Yeah." He smiles as he tilts his head a bit.

Before I knew it, he was hugging me tightly.

"Hikari, please be my girlfriend."
