This was all you, none of it me
You put your hands all over my body and told me, umm
You told me you were ready
For the big one, for the big jump
I'd be your last love everlasting you and me
That was what you told me

Lucy bites her lip, holding in the painful scream she desperately wanted to let out.

She was clutching onto Natsu's hand, holding it tightly. This felt worse than her last child birth, but maybe that's because this baby was coming early.

Two months early to be exact.

And it was all her fault.

"Its not your fault Lucy," Natsu says, almost reading her thoughts.

And that's when a few tears fall from her eyes, because it was. Last night Natsu had a signing for his fourth album. She was told to be on bedrest but she decided to go. A shooter had came, she had gotten shot. It wasn't fatal for her but...it was pretty bad for their baby.

This is where they were at now.

"It kinda is...I should've stayed home," she cries out.

Natsu wraps his arms around her. "Luce, everything happens for a reason. Our baby will live, and he'll be healthy." He says. But even Natsu doubted his own words. He knew that there was a big chance that their baby wouldn't survive.

Just then a doctor decides to come in, telling them that it was know or never and they had to get the baby out of her.

Natsu was thrown out of the room into the hallway, where he was met with atleast two people that would make him happy.

"Daddy!" Both twins say simultaneously, jumping into his arms.

"Thanks for bringing them," Natsu says to both Gray and Juvia.

"No problem. How's Lucy?" Gray asks. "She's fine...but the baby on the otherhand... " Natsu trails off, not wanting to say it, buy Gray got the idea.

"I'm sure he'll be fine," Juvia says, and Natsu nods.

The birth lasted four hours, and Natsu was finally allowed to go in.

He looked over to Lucy, who was breathing heavily, holding a bundle in her arms.

"Is that-"

"Yep. Our Ryu." Lucy says, a small smile playing on her lips.

He had Natsu's hair and Lucy's eyes, and was also very tiny.

"The doctor says the most he'll only live for a week," Lucy says, and that point Natsu broke down.

They got to take him home two days after that, and the twins quickly grew attached to him.

He ended up living for more than a week, 17 days to be exact. They both watched him take his last breath.

"Daddy, where'd Ryu go?" Luke asks his father.

Natsu sighs. "H-he's...with your grandmother. Y'know the one your mother always talks about. Grandma Layla," Natsu says.

"Will we ever see him again?" Nashi butts in.

"Maybe one day," Natsu says.

The next day was his funeral, in which everyone got to say their goodbyes to him.

But ever since that day, Lucy wasn't the same.

She stopped designing, stopped writing, couldn't eat, sleep, or even be the mother she wanted to, since her mind was constantly on the child that she couldn't save.

Natsu spent most of his time in the studio, working so that he wouldn't have to think of him, which pushed their relationship even further.

"You can't just neglect your children," Lucy tells him, just a bit angry. She couldn't handle the twins herself, plus, they wanted to see their father who just kept pushing them away.

"What am I supposed to tell them? Your father whose always downstairs just doesn't want to see you?" Lucy asks.

"Luce I'm working," he says, completely ignoring everything she said. Lucy sighs, completely annoyed. "Yeah of course you are," she says before angrily storming out of the room.

He ignored them plenty more after that, and completely left the parenting roll up to Lucy.

She was going to talk try and talk to him one more time before something happened that drew the line.

She walked to his office, where she heard moaning. She wasn't an idiot, and slid down the door crying. As much as she'd like to slam into the room and yell and let out all of her anger, she couldn't.

The day she decided that was it.

"Natsu," Lucy calls. It was late at night, maybe 3 am.

Natsu looks up from the song he was writing. "Yeah"

"C-can we talk?" She asks.

"Later." He says, not knowing how bad that affected her.

"This is important." Lucy says, finally getting his attention.

"I-I can't do this anymore Natsu. We're both grieving but, you shouldn't stay cooped up in the studio and work all the time. Luke and Nashi are facing the backlash."

"And you shouldn't stay cooped up in your room all the time either Luce. You still have to live life." He spits back, causing an anger to spike in her.

"You have no right to say what I shouldn't do when you shouldn't cheat." She says.

"What do you mean?" He asks.

She crosses her arms. "Don't play dumb Natsu. I'm not stupid. You cheated on me..." she says, quickly turning away. She didn't want him to see her cry.

"It was only because you weren't showing me the attention I needed," Natsu says.

"Your an asshole." She says, finally losing it.

"I've been really trying Natsu but, not only am I grieving, I'm facing postpartum. Do you know how many sleepless nights I have? Some nights where I feel as if it'd be better if I was just gone."

"Do you not understand I feel the same way Lucy? It's not just you-"

"I know that Natsu but we have to do this together! Despite everything we can't neglect Luke and Nash, and we can't neglect everything else! Especially our relationship!"

"Just give me a bit more time Luce," he says. "Well you've had alot of time and..." she takes a deep breath.

"Natsu. I'm leaving," she says, and for the first time in forever, his eyes meet hers.

"Luce you can't do that...and.you defianly can't take Nashi!"

"I can Natsu, and the only reason Luke isn't coming with me is because he needs a father figure. I'll see you...I'll see you whenever," she says before leaving.

But right before she walks out he can hear her mumble these words.

"Two people made of glass can't last."

Natsu didn't know the impact of her words until Luke came to wake him up the next morning.

"Daddy. Where's mommy and Nash?" He asks.

Natsu sighs. "It's just gonna be me and you for awhile." He says.

Lucy was long gone by then, all the way in California.

Too bad all these miles that separated them, wouldn't separate them for long.
