Chapter 10

Stephen P.O.V

I was exhausted but we were leading by 5 points during the first half and trust me it wasn't easy. During the second half they almost caught up and Rook got injured. We won none the less.

"Aye Rook are you good?" I asked

"Yeah, my leg is gonna have a nasty bruise but that's whatever. We should go to Luck Lucy to celebrate" he said

"I told you to stop with those women, you know the risk" I warned.

"Ugh, don't be a bore." He said

"Well I have plans" I told him

"Oh, with Mia?" He asked

"No." I said.

I took a shower. I really wanted to go to Illiana's house so I popped into my car and drove off. I got there and her brother opened the door.

"There's our champion!" He cheered.

"Hi" I greeted.

"Shouldn't you be celebrating with the boys?" He asked.

"Well I'm here with my onesy" I said lifting up my over night bag.

"The more the merrier, I thought I'd be stuck in a girl zone" he said.

I laughed he let me in. Illiana's was clearly shocked and Shay wasn't happy to see me.

"You know I apologized about the whole throwing you with wine thing but that does not mean we forgive you." Shay blurted out.

"Well I'm dead set on getting you guys to forgive me if that means your gonna torture me tonight I'll except it" I said confidently.

"Well I can torture you with good virgin mojito" Illiana said.

She stood up and returned few seconds later. I took one sip.

"This is the best torture ever!" I said shocked at it.

"Oh would you like a normal mojito? I forget that some people have the preference" she asked

"No thanks, I'm guessing you don't drink"  I said fishing.

"Erm well. I  do drink, just not consistently" she said.

"Why were you so hesitant?" I asked.

"Well the thing is I made a promise to God and myself that I let other people dictate my life or my decision. Like the other day when I smoked with you it was to try and build a bond after that I fasted for two days." She said.

Her brother laughed. I felt bad.

"Well....erm....Okay. I just. . . I don't think you should've. Don't ever do things for others approval" I said.

"Don't worry I know. I really don't understand what I was thinking." She said.

"Okay, so what do wanna watch?" My brother asked.

"JOKER!" Illiana Screamed.

We all agreed. During the movie we sat on the mattress all 4 of us. The girls slept in the middle of the bed Illiana slept next to me 'cause Shay was bitching.

We watched the movie and then started watching weird YouTube videos till I fell asleep.

I woke up with Illiana in my arms I looked over and Shay had her head on Illan's chest. To be honest Illiana in my arms.... laying there, calmly asleep made me feel an odd sense of bliss. I didn't want to move and I most certainly didn't want to wake her. It might seem pervy but honestly I didn't think of touching her body in any flirtatious or sexual manner I just enjoyed being that close to her.

Funny how one second you can't stand someone's existence and the next you find them laying next to (platonically)  wanting that one moment to last.

I realized she was about to wake up so I acted like I was asleep cause I don't think she would be pleased with me watching her sleep. I felt her body slowly lift off of in mine and I pulled her back acting as if it were a sleep reflex. She went straight back onto my chest. I bet she was thinking how she was gonna get out of this situation.

I removed my arms from her weist and flipped like over making sure I faced the other way. I wouldn't have minded keeping her prisoner in my arms but I didn't think I should. I felt her weight lift off the sofa and in that second I decided it was time to 'wake up'.

"Morning" she said shyly.

"Good morning, where are you going?" I asked.

"To the kitchen to make breakfast" she answered.

"Need help?" I asked.

"No." She answered.

"Okay. . .well I'm gonna help. Consider this me trying build a bond." I stated.

She smiled and shrugged.

"I'll make the bacon and eggs" I said.

"Well I'll make the pancake, fruit salad, muesli coffee, fresh juice and pop tarts." I said.

"That seems unfair" I said.

"Okay you can make the fruit salad and muesli cause I don't know how you like it and which fruits are band from your diet." She said preparing the pancake ingredients.

"Oh so you know about my diet?" He asked.

"Yeah I was there when you're mom got mad cause someone ordered the wrong fruit going on about you're strict diet" I explained.

"Well someone's.....observant." I said

"My brother and I like sunny side up Shay likes scrambled all of us like our bacon crispy." She said.

"Don't you have community service today?" I asked.

"Nope, we start next week" she said mixing the batter.

"I'm really sorry about that" I sighed.

"I'm sorry too" she said.

"What are apologizing for?" I asked.

"I must have done something bad. If not you then someone else, karma seems to be punishing me lately. I know that whoever's up there wouldn't punish me for no reason or maybe it's preparing me for a great blessing" She said.

"You're really a believer." I said.

"I mean it depends on the way you look at it." She shrugged

"Meaning?" I said confused.

"Well my I don't believe in a specific God, Goddess or gods. Each religion has something to teach you and I believe most of the lessons are teach how to love each other. It doesn't matter which religion you believe in as long as you can relate to other people in whatever manner. I believe the essence of the higher power is love." She explained getting the Ban heated.

"So then what's up with the promise to stay a virgin?" I asked.

"My promise is nothing to do with staying a virgin, , , I promised that I wouldn't have sex with someone I wasn't sure I was in love with. I just want to know that if I do something it's cause I want to" she explained.

"Oh." I said.

I was speechless. Her mind was intriguing and I wanted to find out more. Her mind was so fascinating.
