Illiana's P.O.V

When I first saw Ryder with Stephen I thought something was up, but when he told me that he had fallen in love with me, I couldn't imagine. . . I couldn't imagine him with someone else. This morning I saw Ryder in his clothes, doing the walk of shame and reality hit me. He wasn't mine and he was going to be with other females. . . Or with Ryder.

I got hold of my senses and realized I had no reason to be upset, I didn't have a right to be mad at Ryder or him. I made peace with it in my head but my heart was far from content.

I chose to befriend her if she was going to be around it would be pointless to harbor any resentment towards anyone. She seems like a really nice girl.

On the way to the other half of town. Ryder and I sang along to a lot of songs.

"Can we address the elephant in the car?" She said turning the volume down.

"I don't think there's anything we need to address" I tried to shut down the conversation.

"I just want you to understand I wasn't trying to step on your toes." She said.

"Listen, if you think something is happening between Stephen and I there isn't." I stated bluntly.

"Illiana the thing is..." she began.

I quickly parked the car in the nearest parking space. It was a quick stop so I could kill the elephant.

"So. . . What now!? You care about my feelings? If you thought something was happening and really didn't want to step on my toes you wouldn't have fucked him last night. If you're worried and need reassurance that no one will take him out from under you, don't worry I'm not going to. I just think it's best you and I keep it friendly and keep Stephen out of it. So are we good?" I explained in a mildy aggressive tone.

"Yeah. . . I just glad you cleared it up because he asked me out on a date." She boasted spitefully.

"You should enjoy it." I responded calmly.

I then started driving. When we got to her house she was ready to jump out. I didn't know they had such big houses down town.

"Wait. . . I meant what I said, I'd like for us to be friendly, it might be weird being friends but We'll cross that bridge when we get to it." I said.

"It's cool" Ryder said.

"See you later." I said.

She waved goodbye and I drove back home. While driving Someone You Use To Love by Lewis Capaldi started playing. I felt a major knot in my throat. My vision started blurring due to the tear.

"No Illiana! This was your decision you told him to find someone else, so you have no reason to cry" I told myself aloud.

I didn't listen thou, I cried like a baby. When I reached my house I parked in front of the gate for a while till I got everything out of my system. I wasn't gonna go into the house crying.

When I got home I went in through the back door so no one would hear or see me go in. I went straight to my room and took a shower, put on my beige dress with netting at the bottom and I wore white sneakers. I felt like doing something a bit different so I took my mom's hair straightener and straightened my hair.

I walked down and greeted my family.

"Illiana you look beautiful" my father praised me.

"You got it from your mama" my mothe boasted.

"When did you get in?" My brother questioned.

"Thanks, this morning" I said.

I packed the picnic basket with desserts and drinks, the stones were going to bring sandwiches and other foods. We picked up Shay and Mike (Shay's cousin).

When we got to Blossom Field, we saw the Stones, they were in the perfect spot. We walked towards them then I saw Ryder. I stopped to wait for her.

"Hey bestfriend" she joked.

I could've felt insulted but I found it funny.

"Hi bestfriend" I said.

We walked towards them.

"I brought cotton candy" she said.

Ryder and I handed out the paper plates and cups. We all sat in a circle laughing and joking.

"Stephen would you like a piece of honey apple pie" I offered.

It is his favorite after all. I just added a secret ingredient.

"I would love some." He said

I gave him a big slice of pie, he took one bite.

"This is amazing." He praised.

"My sister made it the yesterday and glazed it when she got home. As far as I'm aware she made it cause it's your favorite" my brother blurted.

"Yeah. . . I and the black forest cake for your mother, the red velvet cake for Jen and truffle for your father" I said trying to save myself.

"We genuinely appreciate it." Mr. Stone smiled.

"Wow you really are an amazing baker" Ryder said.

"She more than an amazing baker." Slipped out of Stephen's mouth.

"Okay Ryder, Stephen let's go" my brother said.

My brother and I had a plan that to sneak of and have a chilled moment where we can act a fool and play games we shouldn't be apart of.

We went to the other side of the lake, behind the huge tree. We all decide to play truth or dare. Luckily Shay didn't forget the vodka.
