Chapter 2: Change
August 24
Monday

Jai'yanna's POV :

Every time I reminisce about that specific moment in my life, I can't help but shed tears. All I can do is pray that my days never resemble those again.

I picked up my Nike shorts from the floor and put them back on. As soon as I stepped out of my room, I went through the kitchen and saw my niece, CocoButter, sitting on the couch in the living room, playing with her baby dolls. "Morning, TT!"

I smiled, "Aww, good morning, my little luv bug! Where's your butt-ass uncle at?"

"Over here, sleep," she answered before running her hands through the dolls' head again.

I shook my head.

Anotha day Anotha dolla' man

I walked towards the kitchen, looking for something to cook. I was a bit hungry, and I thought the heathens could have a light breakfast before going to school.

I opened the refrigerator door, hoping to find the eggs, milk, pancake batter, and last night's leftovers. But then, it hit me: today was a Monday. And everyone knows that L.A.'s Monday morning traffic is like trying to get to a party while crossfaded and in a bucket with two rims on Friday night—you're not making it.

It's equivalent to HELL.

I glanced at the oven clock to check if I had some time to spare: it was 8:00 am.

  Hell Nah!

I would have to leave the house immediately just to ensure they get to school on time.
