Shen Lifen has decided to treat herself to lunch at the club, while she takes a break from her shopping spree. The waiter is about to seat her when she spots Ming Su, Ming Lee's mother, dining alone. They wave at each other. Shen Lifen looks at the waiter and says,
'It's alright, I will sit there.... Ming Su my dear you are looking amazing....Channel?' She points to her outfit.
'You have a great eye.' Laughs Ming Su. 'Thank you dear, sit down, sit down, I've just come from a massage at the spa. It was absolutely divine. You should go for one yourself sometime.'
'I've scheduled one for next week. Honestly I have been so stressed out lately.'
'What's stressing you out Shen Lifen?'
'Who else but Yue. She won't tell me how things are going with your son. After the benefit, I was expecting to see him coming around the house more...but nothing. Has your son said anything about their relationship?'
'You haven't heard?' says Ming Su, looking surprised.
'Heard what?'
'Lee and Yue are not in a relationship. In fact she told him to stay away from him.'
'She did what?' says a shocked Shen Lifen.
'Apparently she is with someone else. Lee told me that he has seen her with him a couple of times, when he goes out, to wherever these young people go.'
'Well who is he?' demands Shen Lifen.
'Lee says he doesn't know anything about him.'
'But we know everyone worth knowing in Shanghai?'
'Well Lee doesn't like him. Apparently they exchanged words once.'
'Dammit what is wrong with my daughter? I swear I don't understand her at all! Well she will simply have to bring him over to the house. I must find out who his family is, what his father does for a living. This is a nightmare, I feel ambushed... and she is not even in town at the moment. She went on a trip to the mountains this weekend.'
'Have some gin and tonic darling, it will calm your nerves.'
Yue and Dylan make their way to the dining room, and marvel at the spread of food laid out in front of them. Zi Wei comes in and screams with excitement when she sees Yue, they run up to each other, and hug.
'Hey pretty, it's so good to see you.' says Zi Wei.
'Hey beautiful, I'm so glad that you are here.' responds Yue.
'Dylan good to see you again. I see you are taking great care of Yue. You are glowing baby girl.'
