'So glad you are in Beijing buddy, I've been working nonstop since I got here, so I'm happy to be able to blow off steam.'

'I'm happy to be here too Dylan. How's the programme going?' Ask Xi Ze.

'It's really good, challenging and I'm learning so much. I haven't felt this alive and creative since....since Yue.'

Xi Ze shifts uncomfortably. Dylan notices.

'What's up dude?'

'Uh...nothing.'

'No not nothing...come on buddy you can tell me.'

' Damn... I guess I can't hide it from you.'

'Hide what?'

Xi Ze says nothing for a bit, then sighs heavily.

'Yue left China a few weeks ago.'

Dylan's heart thuds painfully.

'What do you mean....left China?'

'She has decided to work from her Dad's London office.'

'For how long?'

'I don't even know. She didn't even tell me, she just told Jia,literally on the day she was leaving. Jia doesn't even have her UK number. It's like she has just vanished from our friendship circle.'

Dylan sits there in silence, staring blankly at the row of drinks, behind the bar, they are sitting at. He blinks and then a single tear rolls down his cheek.

'What if....what if she never comes back?'

'She has too many commitments in China not to ever come back dude.' Xi Ze pats his back.

'But what if she is gone for years?'

'You can't think like that...maybe it's just for a few months?'

Dylan grabs his whiskey glass and downs the rest of the contents, before slamming it down on the bar with a bang. With a look of determination he says,

'It's decided!'

'What's decided?'

'I'm going to apply for my passport, and when this residency is complete, and I've sold a painting to make enough money, I'm going to follow her to London!'

Yue is miserable in England. It's not the same like it was, when she was a student here. Nothing is the same anymore after Dylan. It been eight months since she last saw him... touched him... smelt him, yet her love for him is deeper than ever. Which is why 3 months ago after Sichuan, she had to get out of China, and far away from everything that reminded her of him. She couldn't breathe anymore. Even her friends where a painful and constant reminder of him. She had hoped that England would bring some kind of relief, but if anything, it has increased her sense of loneliness. This drives her to spend all her time at work.
